Reflective video display apparatus for interactive training and demonstration and methods of using same
An interactive exercise method includes streaming exercise content to an interactive video system for display via a mirror, the exercise content including a depiction of an instructor performing a repetitive movement. A video stream of a user performing the repetitive movement is received, via a camera of the interactive video system, and the user is detected in the video stream. The user or a body portion thereof is tracked in the video stream as the user performs the repetitive movement. The method also includes generating a measure of a difference between a form of the user performing the repetitive movement and a predetermined form for the repetitive movement. A corrective movement is displayed to the user, via the display and during the display of the instructor performing the repetitive movement, based on the measure, to conform the form of the user to the predetermined form for the repetitive movement.

A multidimensional exercise control system is disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a control system of an exercise machine comprises a memory device storing instructions, a user interface for presenting a video game with an avatar, and a processing device operatively coupled to the memory device and the user interface. The processing device is configured to execute the instructions to receive sensor data from a sensor operatively coupled to an exercise machine, wherein the sensor data comprises one or more measurements; responsive to the one or more measurements, cause the avatar to change a position in the video game; compare the one or more measurements to a target threshold; determine whether the one or more measurement exceed the target threshold; and responsive to determining that the one or more measurements exceed the target threshold, cause the user interface to present a modification to the video game.

An information processing device includes a processor that executes: (a) continuously measuring, according to either or both of output signals from a motion sensor and a force plate, a posture of a batter who is practicing batting with a tee; (b) determining, according to an output signal from a force sensor internally stored in the tee, a timing at which the batter hits a ball placed at the tee; (c) determining, as a hitting posture of the batter, a posture of the batter at the determined timing; and (d) outputting a message instructing the batter to change the batter's hitting posture, according to information indicating an exemplary hitting posture and information indicating the determined batter's hitting posture.

The controller of a wearable device is used to determine swim characteristics of a swimmer. The controller is connected to at least one motion sensor selected from a group including a multi-axis gyroscope and a multi-axis accelerometer. The controller is adapted to detect input signals from the at least one motion sensor. The controller is further configured to perform dynamic stroke segmentations based on at least one of the input signals using a stroke segmentation module, extract feature vectors, using feature extraction module, from the at least one input signal based on the stroke segmentations, and determine the swim characteristics by using the feature vectors through a classifier module. The controller dynamically adapts to a style of the swimmer to detect the swim characteristics.
