Flame simulating assembly for simulated fireplaces including a flame screen having non-continuous flame segments

A flame simulating assembly is provided with a reflected flickering light that includes only one light source. Light from the light source passes though a rotating flicker element onto an angled reflector, or mirror, that reflects light up onto a simulated fuel bed and the some of the light is reflected off of the flicker elements towards a flame screen to create a simulated flame. The clipping flicker elements creates a fluttering light effect due to the flicker elements intermittently dipping into the light path. This fluctuating light is reflected onto the logs and ember bed in front and creates a dancing effect, which simulates glowing embers.

DYNAMIC FIRE SYSTEM HAVING A FLOW CONTROL APPARATUS FOR GENERATING A CONTROL SIGNAL BASED ON AN AUDIO SIGNAL

A flow control apparatus includes a flow control signal generation device for generating a DC control signal based on an audio signal and at least one proportional valve. The flow control signal generation device includes an audio receiving module, a filter rectifier module, a microprocessor and a proportional valve control signal generation module. The filter rectifier module generates at least one DC audio signal by filtering the audio signal provided by the audio receiving module. The microprocessor generates a plurality of period attenuated values based on the DC audio signal. The proportional valve control signal generation module filters the audio signal, attenuates the signal based on the period attenuated values, and then performs filtering and rectification processing to generate the DC control signal, such that the proportional valve may control the opening ratio of the proportional valve based on the DC control signal.

LIGHT REFLECTION MODIFICATION FOR FIREPLACES AND OTHER PRODUCTS

The present disclosure relates to products and methods for modifying the reflection of a light source in a fireplace and other products.

Duel-Fuel Fireplace Apparatus

A duel-fuel fireplace apparatus is described. In one example, an apparatus includes an enclosure having a door disposed thereon and a wood-burning compartment disposed within the enclosure. The wood-burning compartment has an insulated housing configured to support temperatures associated with burning of wood within the wood-burning compartment. A gas-burning compartment is also disposed within the enclosure and has a gas burner disposed therein. A mechanism including a motor is configured to cause movement between a first mode in which the wood-burning compartment is viewable through the door and a second mode in which the gas-burning compartment is viewable through the door.

Hearth apparatus

An apparatus having a substantially air-sealed, transparent, front through which a flame within the firebox may be viewed. The apparatus may include a burner configured to hold and burn a liquid fuel and positioned so as to cause a flame from the burning fuel to appear within the firebox. The liquid fuel may be ethanol. The apparatus may include an igniter that has a user-operated igniter control that may be operated by a user from outside of the firebox that, upon operation, causes the liquid fuel within the burner to be ignited. The apparatus may include an extinguisher that has a user-operated extinguisher control that may be operated by a user from outside of the firebox that, upon operation, causes the flame to be extinguished. The apparatus may include a fuel inlet located outside of the firebox, and a fuel channel between the fuel inlet and the burner. A fuel tank may also be provided.

DIRECT VENT FIREPLACE ASSEMBLY

A fireplace assembly including a direct-vent combustion system which includes an air inlet, an air outlet each sealed from the other. It includes a pre-combustion chamber for entry of a primary fuel and air mixture, a burner unit, the burner unit comprising a burner, a base plate with metered holes or slots configured to allow control of the placement, volume and flow of air flowing from the air inlet into a mixing combustion chamber from the burner unit, and an ember bed located around the burner configured to create the mixing combustion chamber in the burner unit to enhance desired flame presentation by controlling mixing of incoming air with the primary fuel and air mixture.

Steam based faux fireplace

A steam-based faux fireplace comprising a boiler configured to receive a fluid and generate steam, and a manifold configured to receive the steam from the boiler and emit the steam to generate a steam plume at an output. The manifold has a conduit configured to receive fluid from a reservoir and route the fluid about the manifold to heat the fluid before being routed to the boiler. The manifold is already heated due to the emitted steam. This configuration pre-heats the fluid before being presented to the boiler, allowing a smaller low power boiler to be used because the manifold acts as a fluid pre-heater. A very realistic faux flame with a significant length is generated from the low power boiler. In addition, the manifold includes a deflector configured to receive the impinging steam from the output, causing the steam to lose some energy and billow about the deflector and then illuminated to create a realistically looking flame.

Modular Linear Fireplace Gas Burner System
