An electronic golf flagstick is configured for sensing objects proximate the golf flagstick. The electronic golf flagstick includes an elongated pole having a first end and a second end. The first end may be adapted to be removably secured to a surface, and the second end may be adapted to receive one or more accessories. The electronic golf flagstick includes a compartment assembly arranged between the first end and the second end, the compartment assembly comprising: at least one sensor; a processor coupled to memory; and power source configured to provide power to the sensor, processor and memory. The at least one sensor may be configured to sense an object on a ground surface approaching the golf flagstick. The processor coupled to memory may be configured to store the sensed information from the sensor.

A golf ball dispenser includes: a receptacle configured to hold multiple golf balls; a passageway connecting an outlet of the golf dispenser with the receptacle; a gateway coupled between the passageway and the receptacle to restrict a passage of the multiple golf balls into the passageway, the gateway being selectively moveable to allow a golf ball to pass into the passageway for delivery to a tee area; and a display device embedded in the golf ball dispenser to present at least information regarding the golf ball in flight after the golf ball is hit from the tee area. The invention generally relates to a system and method for integrating physical, moving targets into a game, sport, or other activity, including the specific method of how to track the moving target and the interaction of one or more users as the target moves. The system and method for integrating physical, moving targets into a game, sport or other activity enables a plurality of users to simultaneously attempt to hit a moving target in the field of play with a moving object while tracking the moving target and moving object using a combination of sensors located on or around the field of play and on or around the moving target and/or moving object.

A method for positional analysis, comprising the steps of: receiving, from a user device, location information indicating a location of the user device; identifying a location of at least one reference target; determining at least one intended location of the user device by applying a structure model to the location of the, or each, reference target; determining a difference between the, or each, intended location and the location of the user device; determining a first result indicating whether the difference meets a threshold distance of a predefined threshold rule; determining a second result indicating whether the predefined threshold rule is satisfied based at least in part on the first result; and in response, communicating an instruction to the user device indicating that the predefined threshold rule is satisfied, and associated system and device.

A golf instruction method, apparatus and analytics platform for determining the state of a putted golf ball relative to a target using information about the golf ball and external variables and remotely displaying the same, comprising a base unit, a mobile device or terminal, and an associated computer program including an analytics engine for analyzing a user's performance. The computer program determines whether and how a putted golf ball has missed said target and then stores, aggregates and displays that information for a user. The analytics engine is operable to aggregate data, analyze data and then correlate a user's actual skill proficiency to ball performance.

A golf shot alignment system assists a golfer to align a golf club face towards a selected target. The golf shot alignment system comprises a target selection device which is remote from a golf club mounted indicator device which is mounted on a golf club having the golf club face. The target selection device can communicate wirelessly with the golf club mounted indicator device so as to provide target information from the target selection device to the golf club mounted indicator device. The golf club mounted indicator device uses the target information which it receives to determine when the golf club face is aligned towards the selected target and then indicates this to the golfer.

An information processing system includes processing circuitry that is configured to receive input data from a shock sensor which outputs data based on a shock on the shock sensor, and identify a target segment of time-series data that is output from a motion sensor that senses a motion of an object. The disclosure is directed to systems and methods for providing a user with key performance indicators of a basketball player relating to accuracy, precision and improvement. Specifically, the disclosure is directed to a system of sensors coupled to a basketball backboard adapted to provide an accurate tracking of a shot in a given three-dimensional space and extract features manipulated to yield key performance indicators based on establishing whether, how often and where the ball center passes the rim plane at a sub-cm resolution over a period of no more than 200 msec.

A soccer training device can include: a body having a front surface facing a first direction; and an illuminating contact sensor associated with the body so that a light emitter is visible and capable of emitting light in substantially the same first direction that the front surface faces and so that a force contact above a predetermined threshold with the body is sensed by a sensing module. In some aspects, the illuminating contact sensor is at least one of: coupled with the soccer training member; removable from the soccer training member; or integrated with the soccer training member.
