Door latch detection with motor current analysis
Controlling a door latch of a cooking appliance is provided. A controller monitors motor current of a motor driving a door latch during a locking operation of a door of the cooking appliance. The controller deactivates the motor responsive to the motor current reaching a closed door threshold amount of current. The controller indicates the door being in a closed state responsive to the current draw over time matching a predefined current draw curve.
Camera view port dedicated self cleaning cycles
A dedicated self-cleaning cycle for a camera for imaging a cavity of an oven is provided. An indication is received to perform a localized pyrolytic cycle to clean a view port glass protecting an image sensor of the camera from heat or detritus in the cavity of the oven. Responsive to the indication, a camera viewport heating element configured to provide localized heating to the view port glass is operated to perform the localized pyrolytic cycle. The camera is utilized to view the cavity of the oven.

ELECTRIC OVEN
The present invention relates to an electric oven capable of reducing contaminants, the electric oven comprising: an oven body having a cavity capable of accommodating food therein; and a convection assembly which is installed to protrude from one surface of the cavity and which can suck and remove contaminants generated when cooking the food and can heat the inside of the cavity. The convection assembly comprises: a cover case, protruding from one surface of the cavity, including a front surface which is spaced apart from the one surface of the cavity and has an inlet port, and a side surface which extends from the front surface to the one surface of the cavity and has an outlet port; a convection fan which is installed inside the cover case and allows air containing the contaminants to be sucked into the cover case through the inlet port and discharged through the outlet port; and a convection heater for heating the air sucked into the cover case by the convection fan to remove the contaminants, wherein the air discharged from the cover case moves in an upward inclined direction with respect to the one surface of the cavity.

Pyrolytic oven with a lighting module
A pyrolytic oven comprises a housing and a muffle delimiting a cooking chamber inside the housing. A lighting module serves to illuminate the cooking chamber, wherein the lighting module has a cooling structure with an arrangement of cooling extensions formed in particular as pins or ribs, which project into a gap between housing and muffle and have a convection effect in a cooking mode of the oven. A fan device of the oven is configured and controlled to generate an air flow encountering the cooling structure in the gap in a pyrolytic mode of the oven. The cooling structure of the lighting module further has a wall formation, which in pyrolytic mode generates a wind shadow relative to the air flow for a number of cooling extensions of the cooling structure arranged distributed in a transverse plane to the flow direction of the air flow.
