This present invention provides a ceramic burner cover for gas stovetops. The ceramic burner cover is a solid ceramic cover that is able to removably rest above and cover a gas burner assembly on a stovetop. The ceramic burner cover has a planar ceramic plate and a support member for supporting the plate above the burner assembly. The support member can be formed as a perforated continuous peripheral flange or as a pair of protruding handles secured to outer peripheral edge of the ceramic plate. The burner cover is sized and shaped to cover one or more burner assemblies, while supporting cooking vessels. A metallic insert is incorporated in the burner cover to reduce weight and to more efficiently distribute heat from the burner assembly to a cooking vessel.

An appliance pad that is applicable to protecting kitchen appliances, such as a range or stove, is described. The appliance pad is manufactured of a polymer such that a bottom surface of the pad has a hardness so that the pad adheres to at least a portion of a front shelf of the appliance. The front shelf of the appliance where the pad is installed is a portion of the appliance between a cooking section of the appliance and the user. The pad also provides protection of excess heat conducted by the front shelf.

A movable panel assembly for an appliance includes a panel coupled to an appliance chassis via a cam mechanism, which is actuated by a stationary motor. The cam mechanism includes two parallel linkage portions, wherein each of the linkage portions are coupled to opposite ends of the panel. Each linkage portion includes a rack mounted to a sliding rail, which is translated by the motor via a gear engaging with the rack to move a plate. The plate includes a pin coupled to a cam follower, the pin being configured to translate within a channel disposed within a cam plate. The cam follower is configured to cause the panel to horizontally translate, pivot, and vertically translate relative to the chassis, thereby facilitating access to a component housing unit disposed behind the panel when the panel assembly is in a closed configuration.

Locator cover for a cooktop appliance

A cooktop includes a cooking surface and a heating element. A cover for the cooktop includes a top sheet extending between a left side and a right side and between a front side and a back side. A locator opening is defined in the top sheet. A first peripheral flange extends from one of the left side and the front side, and a second peripheral flange extends from one of the right side and the back side. A first plurality of cooling slots is between the top sheet and the first peripheral flange. A second plurality of cooling slots is between the top sheet and the second peripheral flange. The cover is configured to overlie the cooktop such that the locator opening corresponds to the heating element of the cooktop.

A combined furniture and heating device having a concealable electric fireplace insert installed within a fireplace compartment of a furniture apparatus is provided. The electric fireplace insert has a front surface from which simulated flames are viewable when an opening of the fireplace compartment is uncovered so that the furniture apparatus is configured in its open configuration. The furniture apparatus includes a concealing panel removably installable over the opening configure the device in a concealed configuration so that the electric fireplace insert and its simulated flames viewable at its front surface are at least partially concealed. Power to a heating apparatus of the electric fireplace insert is turned on and off by a disabling device as the concealing panel is alternated between the open and concealed configurations. The disabling device can include a switch or a thermistor.

Height adjustable removable kick panel

Techniques are provided for constructing an adjustable kick panel assembly that is removable, adjustable, and attachable without the use of a tool. In one or more implementations, a bracket having a clip is inserted into a slot on a kick panel, and then twisted to secure the bracket to the kick panel. The bracket allows for height adjustment of the kick panel without a tool. The complete kick panel assembly is then attached to the base of an appliance by inserting the clip into a housing on the base.

The bottom panel assembly includes a panel defining an aperture, a front air deflector attached to the panel at the aperture, and a retention clip provided within the cooking chamber, the retention clip defining a receiving slot to selectively receive the panel when the panel is in an installed position.
