Pedestal mounted paver heating system
Some deck or patio areas constructed of pavers mounted on adjustable pedestal supports must remain snow and ice free on their top surfaces. The pedestal-mounted paver heating system is designed to allow easy installation of electric heating cable that is positioned against the bottom surface of pavers so that heat generated by the cable is efficiently transferred up into the pavers to raise their temperature enough to prevent the accumulation of snow and ice on their top surfaces.
Protective enclosure for an animal and method of making
In a configuration, a protective enclosure for an animal and method of making is disclosed. The protective enclosure may include a floor system and a plurality of wall systems that may define an internal portion of the protective enclosure. A first electrical heating element may be disposed within the floor system or one of the wall systems. At least one wall electrical heating element may be disposed within the at least one wall system of the plurality of wall systems. The first electrical heating element and the at least one wall electrical heating element may be powered by electricity and may be configured to direct heat inwardly from the floor system or the at least one wall system to increase temperature inside the internal portion of the protective enclosure.
Heating Panels and connection methods thereof
A floor panel having a heating element disposed therein, the floor panel having at least two abutments for operationally coupling the panel to adjacent panels. Electrical contacts are disposed on complementary abutments or abutment walls and busbars electrically couple between complementary contacts of opposing abutments such that, when adjacent floor panels are laid together to form a floor or a portion thereof, the busbars are able to feed power to heating elements disposed in the panel. The panel have sealants and/or adhesives which protect at least one contact from fluids. Also disclosed are connector bars, adapters, and switching and protection arrangements, and optional constructions for inter-panel connectors.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL SYSTEM
A support structure for a heating or cooling system includes a plurality of projections designed to be capable of retaining one or more thermal elements positioned adjacent thereto. The projections are positioned so as to form a first set of substantially parallel undulating channels, each channel having one of the projections forming at least a part of the inner radius of each undulation, with each projection having a recess formed in a side wall thereof facing said channel. The undulations of the channel ensure that a thermal element positioned in the channel will make contact with the projections each time it has to bend around one, without requiring spacing of the projections to squeeze the thermal element. The thermal element can thus be held securely without any play (unwanted lateral movement) in a channel that is slightly wider than the thermal element. Recesses in the channels at the contact points also restrict movement in the vertical direction, thus preventing the thermal element from ‘popping out’ of the channel, while not requiring any restriction narrower than the thermal element.
CURTAIN WALL AND METHOD FOR THE INSTALLATION THEREOF
A curtain wall includes one or more mullion profiles and one or more transom profiles and panels which are mounted in the mullion profiles and in the transom profiles by their edges. The one or more mullion profiles extend vertically and are provided with an undercut groove on two opposite sides which has an access opening. The grooves form a rebate in which the rim of a panel is mounted. The undercut groove has an elongate cross section which is provided, at the one or several of the transverse ends, with a rounded section and/or which is free from roundings with a radius of less than 2 millimeters at one or several of the transverse ends.
Asymmetric surface layer for floor panels
A heater panel includes a core. A heater/dielectric layer including a positive thermal coefficient (PTC) heater layer between a pair of dielectric layers is bonded to the core in a stack. An impact layer is bonded to the stack, wherein the impact layer includes a first sub-layer for impact absorption that is bonded to the stack and a second sub-layer for cut resistance bonded to the first sub-layer. The second sub-layer has a higher material hardness than that of the first-sub layer.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR POSITIONING HEATING ELEMENTS
An underlayment system is provided that includes a plurality of bosses that emanate form a common base member. The bosses and bases preferably include an opening therethrough that will allow for subsequent layers of adhesive to interact and bond to each other. The bosses are also spaced in such a way to help secure a wire snugly therebetween.
Suspension mounted heating system
A suspension mounted heating system is designed to allow easy installation of electric heating cable that is positioned against the bottom surface of a suspended stair or walkway so that heat generated by the cable is efficiently transferred up into the stair or walkway material to raise its temperature enough to prevent the accumulation of snow and ice on the material's top surface.
Temperature Controlled Deck Board
A deck assembly is formed of a plurality of deck boards spanning across a second of joist members to provide structural support between the joist members. Each deck board includes a base frame with an upper panel having an upper supporting surface and a plurality of support legs extending downwardly from the upper panel in engagement with the joist members to support the upper panel spaced above the joist members. Each deck board also has one or more channels formed in the upper panel so as to define an elongate passage which is recessed downwardly relative to the upper panel and which is open at a top side at the upper supporting surface of the upper panel to receive an elongated flexible heating member within the channels of the deck boards. Panels of finishing material on the upper supporting surfaces span over the heating member.
