An apparatus for heating water has a tank for storing water and an air conditioning system that defines a refrigerant flow path through which refrigerant flows. The refrigerant flow path passes through the heat exchanger so that refrigerant heat is contributed to the tank. A control system controls operation of the water heating apparatus.

FAUCET ASSEMBLY

A faucet assembly comprises: a water supply pipeline comprising a water outlet pipeline section and a water inlet pipeline section connected to each other, wherein the water inlet pipeline section contains a throat section with smaller cross sectional diameter; a shell made of hard materials and wrapped around the throat section, so as to define a closed space that contains air around the throat section, while the throat section has an opening to the closed space; a flexible membrane wrapping layer made of elastic materials and is hermetically sealed on the inner side of the shell, so that the closed space that contains air has an elastic, retractable and sealed boundary; a heater connected in series to the inlet pipeline section and is positioned in the upstream of the shell along the water outlet direction, to heat the water that is about to flow into the throat section.

Greywater heat recovery with warm side agitation

This heat recovery device replaces the floor drain in a common residential shower. A large circular pan joins flush with the shower stall floor and funnels greywater into the drain piping. The circular pan contains the heat transfer device which preheats the incoming cold water and recovers approximately half of the heat that would otherwise be lost. The incoming cold water travels through a water turbine where it rotates an impeller. The impeller is magnetically coupled with a rotary whisk. The rotary motion continuously washes the draining greywater over a spiral warming coil. The spiral coil transfers the heat to the incoming fresh water as it travels to the shower's mixing valve.

Apparatus and methods for pre-heating water with air conditioning unit or heat pump

Water heater apparatus includes a tank for storing water; a heat exchanger associated with the tank and being operative to receive refrigerant and transfer heat therefrom to the tank, the heat exchanger representatively being a heat conductive tube externally wrapped around the tank in heat conductive contact therewith; air conditioning apparatus operative to utilize refrigerant flowing through a refrigerant circuit portion of the air conditioning apparatus, the refrigerant circuit portion being in fluid communication with the heat exchanger; and a control system operative to selectively cause a portion of the flowing refrigerant to pass through the heat exchanger, or cause essentially the entire flow of the refrigerant to bypass the heat exchanger.

A fluid control device includes a housing and a fluid temperature control assembly. The housing includes a first inlet, a second inlet for receiving a fluid, and a first outlet through which a fluid of a third temperature flows. The fluid temperature control assembly is in the housing, with apertures for regulating fluid communication between a mixing cavity and the first inlet of the housing, apertures communicating with the first outlet. The fluid temperature control assembly modifies properties of the apertures for regulating the amount of fluid having a first temperature relative to the amount of fluid having a second temperature with the mixing cavity, thereby maintaining the fluid discharged from the first outlet at a predetermined temperature.

Heat recovery system, its heat recovery process and use

The present invention relates to a heat recovery system, of a part of the energy spent in the preparation of waste water, e.g. water from baths or kitchens, energy that is usually lost when the water is drained into the sewer. This energy can be recovered and reused to heat water that is readily used, for example in the shower, or can be stored in a water heater. This system is designed in such a way that, together with any tub or shower base, constitutes a heat recovery shower base or a heat recovery bath, for example. The energy recovery system is composed, preferably, by a coil generally made of copper inside a PVC pipe that has at one end a throttle plate also made of PVC, a filter for the protection of the system against impurities, turbulence fins, and an external casing. The system has a compact structure which benefits its rapid adaptation.

The concepts relate to reducing energy loss associated with hot water systems. One example is manifest as a system with an automatic hot water recovery apparatus and selective hot water isolation devices. In one example a selective hot water isolation device is configured to be connected in fluid flowing relation with a first water line and a second water line and the selective hot water isolation device is configured to control water cross-over from the second water line into the first water line based upon water flow through the first water line.
