11371722 · 2022-06-28 · ·

A hot-water supply system heats up water by power generated by power generation means. The hot water supply system includes a compressor and a water heat-up unit. In the hot-water supply system, the compressor compresses refrigerant and circulates the refrigerant through a refrigerant circuit. The water heat-up unit heats up water by changing, in accordance with the generated power, a rotation rate of an electric motor for driving the compressor.

Push pin bearing mechanism for actuators

A thermostatic radiator valve (TRV) assembly or automatic temperature balanced actuator (ABA) assembly controls a manifold assembly through a push pin bearing mechanism. The push pin bearing mechanism comprises a push pin that moves in a linear direction responsive to rotational movement of a motor gear that is coupled through a helical gear. Rotational movement of the push pin is prevented by a ball bearing assembly. Movement of the push pin is transferred to a manifold pin, which in turn, controls the manifold assembly. Because the push pin moves in a linear rather than a rotational fashion, erosion of the mated manifold pin is substantially reduced with respect to transitional approaches.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR BALANCING A HYDRONIC NETWORK

For balancing a hydronic network that comprises a plurality of parallel zones with a regulating valve in each zone, individual flow characteristics are determined (S1) for each of the regulating valves, by recording the total flow of fluid measured at different valve positions of a respective regulating valve, while the remaining other regulating valves are set to a closed valve position. Dependent flow characteristics are determined (S2) by recording the total flow of fluid measured at different valve positions of the respective regulating valve, while the remaining other regulating valves are set to an open valve position. Correction factors are determined (S3) for each of the regulating valves, using the individual flow characteristics and the dependent flow characteristics. The hydronic network is balanced (S4) by setting the valve positions of the regulating valves using target flows and the correction factors.

HOT WATER SUPPLY DEVICE

A hot water supply device including an inlet pipe, an outlet pipe, a burner unit, a heat exchanger, an exhaust aperture, a first temperature sensor detecting a measured exhaust temperature of the exhaust gas, a second temperature sensor detecting a water temperature of water entering the inlet pipe, and a processor. The processor is configured to obtain an error between the measured exhaust temperature and an estimated exhaust temperature, and detects that scale clogging has occurred inside the heat exchange tubing based on an index which is generated using the error between the measured exhaust temperature and the estimated exhaust temperature. The estimated exhaust temperature is a first predetermined value that is determined using a numerical equation which has at least the water temperature of water entering the inlet pipe and a scale number of the hot water supply device as variables of the numerical equation.

Device and Method for Converting Solar PV Energy into Thermal Energy Storage Using Combined Heat-Pump and Resistive Heating Elements in Water Heater

Photovoltaics and an MPPT DC/DC converter powers a DC bus of a controller. It uses an electric heat pump to heat a mass like water, and also has a resistive heating element to heat the mass. A microcontroller controls a variable frequency (VFD) motor drive to power the electric heat pump when sufficient solar power is available to run the heat pump and uses the resistive element to heat the thermal mass when insufficient solar power exists for the heat pump or when excess solar power is available. A controller has an MPPT input for solar power and a VFD to provide power through an output to a heat pump-based water heater and an output to power a resistive water heating element. A microcontroller determines solar power available and runs the heat pump when possible and the resistive element when insufficient power is available or when excess power is available.
