PROVIDING DOMESTIC HOT WATER FROM CONVENTIONAL RESIDENTIAL SPLIT SYSTEM HEAT PUMPS
In a split system heat pump cooling and heating system, an auxiliary hot water storage tank is provided as an energy storage bank. Two sets of coils run through this storage tank, a first set carrying hot refrigerant from the heat pump to deposit energy and a second set carrying hot potable water to remove energy. Valve and switch matrixes are operated at the heat pump to provide hot potable water from the energy storage bank during both normal space heating and cooling operations of the heat pump.
A TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE
Please replace the originally filed abstract with the substitute abstract provided below. A temperature and pressure relief valve apparatus including a body having a first conduit connected to a water heater and a second conduit connected to a discharge pipe. A valve member, positioned between the first and second conduits, is normally biased closed to prevent flow between the conduits. The valve member is configured such that when a temperature or pressure within the water heater exceeds a predetermined level, the valve member opens to relieve pressure and, in turn, water is released through the second conduit. A sensor is disposed about the second conduit and coupled to a controller. The controller measures a capacitance value of the second conduit, detects a change in the capacitance value indicating a presence of water in the second conduit, and asserts an alarm condition upon detection of the change in the second conduit capacitance value.
Real-time heated water supply measurement systems for water heaters and methods thereto
Disclosed herein is a water heating system including a water heater having a tank, and a first temperature sensor disposed toward a top end of the tank to measure a first temperature and a second temperature sensor disposed toward a bottom end of the tank to measure a second temperature. The water heating system can further include a controller communicably coupled to the first temperature sensor and the second temperature sensor, where the controller determines an amount of heated water in the tank based on one or more algorithms and measurements made by the first and second temperature sensors.
Heating water heater and control method thereof, and computer-readable storage medium
Disclosed are a method for controlling a heating water heater, a heating water heater, and a computer-readable storage medium. The method includes: controlling the heating outlet to be closed and the heat supply outlet to be opened after receiving a bath water signal; obtaining a water temperature of a bath outlet; obtaining a duration that the water temperature at the bath outlet is within a preset water temperature range; controlling an opening degree of the heat supply outlet to decrease and an opening degree of the heating outlet to increase when the duration is greater than or equal to a first preset duration, and a heat load of the heating water heater is less than a rated load; and controlling the heat load of the heating water heater to increase, and maintaining the water temperature at the bath outlet within the preset water temperature range.
Methods and system for demand-based control of a combination boiler
A combination boiler provides heated water to a boiler loop and heated domestic hot water (DHW) to a DHW loop. A primary heat exchanger is connected to the boiler loop. A burner provides heat to the primary heat exchanger and an input fan supplies a fuel and air mixture to the burner. A secondary heat exchanger transfers heat energy from the boiler loop to a domestic water loop. A controller determines a boiler loop flow rate. The controller measures an input temperature of the boiler loop, an output temperature of the boiler loop, and a DHW output temperature of the domestic water loop. The controller determines a DHW input temperature and estimates a DHW flow rate. The input fan speed is initiated or operated according to a required heat output of the burner corresponding to the DHW flow rate.
BUILDING CONTROLLER WITH ANTENNA
A wall module for a building control system includes a back plate with one or more mounting features for mounting the backplate to a wall. A main body includes one or more attachment features for removably attaching the main body to the back plate. The main body also includes a front side and a back side, wherein at least part of the front side is formed by a front plate. A display is housed by the main body in a display cavity that is defined at least in part by the front plate, and wherein at least part of the display is viewable from the front side. An antenna is housed by the main body in an antenna cavity that is defined at least in part by the front plate.

Heat Pump Water Heater Systems and Methods Thereto
The disclosed technology includes systems and methods for operating a fluid heating device comprising a heat pump and an electric heating element. The disclosed technology can include a system and method that can receive current data from a current sensor and temperature data from a temperature sensor, determine whether the current is greater than or equal to a threshold current and whether the temperature is greater than or equal to a threshold temperature, and output a control signal to heat the fluid using the heat pump only or the electric heating element only based on the current data and the temperature data.
Local thermal energy consumer assembly and a local thermal energy generator assembly for a district thermal energy distribution system
A local thermal energy consumer assembly and a local thermal energy generator assembly to be connected to a thermal energy circuit comprising a hot and a cold conduit. The local thermal energy consumer assembly is connected via a flow controller to the hot conduit. The local thermal energy generator assembly is connected via a flow controller to the cold conduit. The flow controller is selectively set in pumping mode or a flowing mode based on a local pressure difference between heat transfer liquid of the hot and cold conduits.
Energy recovery system for heated water
A free-standing Energy Recovery System enables sanitary recovery of thermal energy with heat transfer from hot waste effluent to incoming domestic water. The source of the effluent may, for example, be conventional commercial ware-washing, clothes washing equipment, pasteurization and other industrial processes.
