A plurality of micro chillers are provided, with each micro chiller being connected to the primary water loop. Each micro chiller includes its own heat engine. Each micro chiller includes one or more fan control units that exchange heat between the micro chiller and the air in a building. In a first mode a micro chiller transfers heat from the air in the building to the water circulating within the primary water loop. In a second mode the micro chiller transfers heat from the water circulating in the primary water loop to the air in the building. A primary water loop regulation system is provided to control the temperature of the water circulating in the primary water loop.
Staged oven self-clean preheat temperature control
One or more cooking elements of a cooking appliance may be controlled during the preheat phase of an oven self-clean cycle to maintain a temperature within an oven cavity proximate an intermediate temperature setpoint that is below a self-clean temperature setpoint for the oven self-clean cycle until reaching a predetermined time in the oven self-clean cycle.
System and method for heat and energy recovery and regeneration
A heat recovery system includes a compressor, a solar panel, and a first heat exchanger and a second heat exchanger in fluid connection to form a closed circuit. The compressor is configured to facilitate fluid movement in the fluid circuit between the solar panel, the first heat exchanger and the second heat exchanger. The solar panel includes a plurality of solar cells connected in parallel, and each solar cell includes a plurality of metal tubes for fluid to pass through. A temperature sensor is mounted within each of the solar cells and configured to measure temperature inside the respective solar cell. Each solar cell is connected to the circuit via a respective pressure valve, and the status of the pressure valve is configured to depend on the measurement of the temperature sensor in the respective solar cell.
Exploitation of a photovoltaic system coupled to a joint water boiler-air/air heat pump air conditioning system
In a joint water boiler-air/air heat pump air conditioning system coupled to a photovoltaic system and intended to air condition a closed environment formed by one or more rooms and comprising an electrical system to which electrical appliances are connected, an electronic control system is programmed to compute electrical power production of the photovoltaic system and electrical power consumption of the electrical appliances in the closed environment, and, based thereon, a surplus electrical power production of the photovoltaic system with respect to the electrical power consumption of the electrical appliances in the closed environment. If a surplus of electrical power production of the photovoltaic system is determined to exist with respect to the electrical power consumption of the electrical appliances in the closed environment, it may be determined how many indoor units of the hot/cold air/air heat pump system can be electrically supplied simultaneously with the electrical power surplus.
ELECTRONIC AIR PRESSURE INTERLOCK SWITCH
A device that includes a pressure sensor that adds dynamic pressure sensing capability to a furnace. In some examples the device may include a relay and other circuitry to replace the single-setpoint pressure switch used to sense the operation of an inducer fan. The pressure sensor may measure the pressure from the inducer fan and send a signal to the other circuitry, such as a microcontroller. The other circuitry may determine when the pressure from the inducer fan reaches a predetermined threshold and allow the main gas valve of the furnace to open. The other circuitry may be configured to set the pressure sensor to a variety of predetermined pressure thresholds, and thereby replace multiple pressure switches. In some examples, the other circuitry may record pressure values received from the pressure sensor over time and provide performance data, as well as other signals or indicators.
Water heater
The improved water heater is a combustion reaction based water heating apparatus. The improved water heater is used to heat fresh water for domestic and light industrial purposes. The improved water heater includes a tank and an enhanced heating device. The insulating structure stores the water during and after the heating process. The enhanced heating device: a) contains the combustion reaction; and, b) transfers through a heat exchange mechanism the heat generated by the combustion reaction to the water contained within the insulating structure. The enhanced heating device includes a heat exchange apparatus. When compared to a traditional exhaust flue, the heat exchange apparatus more efficiently transfers heat between the heated exhaust gases from the combustion reaction and the water contained in the insulating structure.

Methods And System For Controlling A Combination Boiler
A combination boiler provides heated water to a boiler loop and domestic hot water (DHW) to a domestic water loop. The combination boiler includes a primary heat exchanger (PHE) connected to the boiler loop and a burner to provide heat to the primary heat exchanger. A secondary heat exchanger (SHE) transfers heat energy from the boiler loop to the domestic water loop. A controller monitors a PHE inlet temperature and a DHW output temperature, obtains a pre-heat initialization temperature threshold and a pre-heat cancellation temperature threshold, and detects a low temperature condition. A pre-heat operation is initiated responsive to the low temperature condition by circulating heated water from the PHE to the SHE. The burner is selectively fired at least in part according to an outlet temperature of the PHE.
