Heat pump and method of operating heat pump to control power to boiler based on expected efficiency of heat pump
A heat pump may include a compressor configured to compress a refrigerant, a first temperature sensor configured to detect an outdoor temperature, a second temperature sensor provided in heating pipes connected to a heating device, and a controller. Based on a first sensing value of the first temperature sensor, the controller may be configured to control a compressor, control power to a boiler, and/or calculate an expected efficiency of the heat pump. Based on the expected efficiency and/or a second sensing value of a second temperature sensor, the controller may be configured to control power to the boiler.
HEATING AND HOT-WATER SUPPLY DEVICE
A heating and hot-water supply device includes a combustion means, a heat exchanger, a circulation passage, a circulation means, a bypass passage, a distribution means, a hot-water supply heat exchanger, a water supply passage, a hot-water supply passage, and a control means. The heat exchanger heats a heating heat-medium to a target heat medium temperature. The distribution means distributes the heating heat-medium to the circulation passage and the bypass passage. The control means is capable of adjusting a distribution ratio of the distribution means to be adaptable to a heating operation, a hot-water supply operation, and a simultaneous heating and hot-water supply operation. At the time of transition from the heating operation to the simultaneous heating and hot-water supply operation, in a case where the heating terminal for performing heating is a warm air heater, the control means raises the target heat medium temperature.

Air handling apparatus for HVAC systems
An air handling apparatus for a HVAC system of a building. The air handling apparatus includes an enclosure having at least one inlet opening for drawing outside air into the enclosure, and at least one outlet opening for directing air from within the enclosure to outside the enclosure. At least one fan is mounted within the enclosure for drawing air through the enclosure. A burner box is centrally located within the enclosure for heating outside air drawn into the enclosure through the at least one inlet opening.
IMPROVED CONTROL SYSTEM FOR HYDRONIC HEATER AND METHOD OF OPERATING SAME
A control system for a burner assembly used in vehicles and boats particularly for a coolant storage type heater and a method of operating the control system. Sensors for producing a resistance change as a function of temperature are utilised to send a continuous signal to the control system from both the coolant and the potable water by being in contact with coolant and potable water throughout control system operation. The sensors and the control system allow flexible heater operation and may further dependent upon the user where commands can be entered to a touch screen connected to the control board of the control system.
HEAT RECOVERY APPARATUS AND METHODS OF INCREASING ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF HYBRID HEATING SYSTEMS USING THE APPARATUS
A hybrid heating system having a heat recovery apparatus in fluid communication with a heat pump and a furnace is provided. The apparatus recovers heat from flue gas discharged from the furnace and transfers the recovered heat to a stream of refrigerant in the heat pump. The apparatus includes a shell disposed in fluid communication with the furnace and tubes disposed in fluid communication with the shell and the heat pump. The system includes valves for regulating access between the apparatus and the stream of the refrigerant in the heat pump, and a control unit in communication with the valves to regulate access between the apparatus and the heat pump during a heating mode based on operating parameters of the system.
