An air cleaner and a method for controlling an air cleaner are provided. The air cleaner may include a first air cleaning module having a first fan and a first filter; a second air cleaning module having a second fan and a second filter, the second air cleaning module provided vertically over the first air cleaning module; an air flow controller provided at an upper side of the second air cleaning module and including a circulation fan; a sensor configured to sense a pollution level in a room space; an input configured to receive input of a command for an operation mode of a plurality of operation modes to operate the first and second air cleaning modules and the air flow controller; and a controller configured to drive at least one of the first fan, the second fan, or the circulation fan selectively and determine an amount of discharge air flow. Based on at least one of an operation mode input or the pollution level, the controller may operate one of (1) the first fan, (2) the first and second fans, (3) the first and second fans and the circulation fan, or (4) the second fan and the circulation fan.

Air conditioner units having improved condensate removal assemblies

Air conditioner units are provided. An air conditioner unit includes an outdoor heat exchanger disposed in an outdoor portion, an indoor heat exchanger disposed in an indoor portion, and a bulkhead disposed between the outdoor heat exchanger and the indoor heat exchanger. The air conditioner unit further includes a pump disposed in the outdoor portion, and a conduit in fluid communication with the pump. The air conditioner unit further includes a receptacle disposed in the indoor portion, the receptacle in fluid communication with the conduit for receiving fluid from the conduit. The receptacle includes a tray defining a channel, and a riser extending from a bottom wall of the tray. The riser includes a raised surface disposed above the bottom wall along a vertical direction. A bore extends through and is defined in the raised surface and the bottom wall.

Air Conditioner Units with Improved Make-Up Air System

An air conditioner unit and methods of operating the same is provided. The air conditioner unit may include a refrigeration loop having a variable speed compressor, an electronic expansion valve, an indoor heat exchanger, and an outdoor heat exchanger. An indoor fan and an outdoor fan may be configured to urge air through the indoor and outdoor heat exchangers, respectively. A bulkhead may be disposed between the indoor heat exchanger and the outdoor heat exchanger to define an indoor portion and an outdoor portion of the unit. A vent aperture may be defined in the bulkhead, and the indoor and outdoor fans may be configured to urge make-up air from the outdoor portion through the vent aperture to the indoor portion. In addition, an auxiliary fan may be disposed within the vent aperture to provide additional boost make-up air, and a heating bank may be used to heat make-up air if desired.

Bulkhead assemblies for air conditioner units

Air conditioner units and bulkhead assemblies for air conditioner units are provided. A bulkhead assembly includes a bulkhead which includes a first sidewall, a second sidewall spaced apart from the first sidewall along a lateral direction, and a rear wall extending laterally between the first sidewall and the second sidewall. The rear wall includes an indoor facing surface and an opposing outdoor facing surface. The bulkhead assembly further includes a vent aperture defined in the rear wall, and a vent unit. The vent unit includes a frame, a door, and a hinge rotatably connecting the door to the frame. The frame is positioned on one of the indoor facing surface or the outdoor facing surface and defines a frame aperture generally aligned with the vent aperture. The door is rotatable between an open position and a closed position.
