The apparatus and method includes a geothermal heat sink comprised in a geothermal field, structured to transport heat away from the heat exchanger via the filtered coolant intake and exhaust pipes, and a coolant pump operatively coupled to the coolant intake and coolant exhaust pipes in a coolant circuit and configured to transport heat absorbed by the heat exchanger to the geological heat sink comprised in the geothermal field.
ANOMALY DETECTION BASED ON AIRFLOW MEASUREMENT
A computer-implemented method for anomaly detection in a data processing system comprising a processor and a memory comprising instructions which are executed by the processor, the method including: receiving, by the processor, a real-time airflow pattern detected from an airflow alerter, wherein the real-time airflow pattern is generated by a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system in a particular facility; comparing, by the processor, the real-time airflow pattern to a predetermined airflow pattern for the HVAC system; and when the real-time airflow pattern is different from the predetermined airflow pattern, receiving, by the processor, an alert message indicating an anomaly from the airflow alerter.
Heat pump system and method for controlling a heat pump system
Heat pump system comprising a heat medium circuit (210, 220, 230, 240, 250, 310, 320, 410, 420, 430, 440, 450, 460) in turn comprising a compressor (211), an expansion valve (232, 242), at least one primary heat exchanging means (422, 433, 452) between a primary-side heat medium and a respective primary heat source or sink selected from outdoor air, a water body or the ground, at least one secondary heat exchanging means (314, 315, 316) between a secondary-side heat medium and a respective secondary heat source or sink selected from indoors air, pool water and tap water, and a control means (500). The invention is characterised in that the speed of the compressor can be controlled, in that an opening of the expansion valve is adjustable, in that the speed of the compressor is controlled, and in that an output temperature of heat medium flowing out from the expansion valve is controlled by controlling the opening of the expansion valve given the controlled speed of the compressor. The invention also relates to a method.
High-efficiency cooling system
A cooling system transfers thermal energy from a temperature-critical reservoir to a heat sink. The system has an intermediate reservoir which is thermally interposed between the temperature-critical reservoir and the heat sink. The intermediate reservoir serves as an energy buffer between the two reservoirs by accepting thermal energy from the temperature-critical reservoir, storing that energy, and then transferring it to a heat sink by means of a temperature-driven process rather than by means of a heat pump. Transfer of thermal energy from the intermediate reservoir to the heat sink is temporally coordinated with naturally occurring temperature variations of the heat sink so that all thermal energy transfer processes conducted by the system are temperature-driven.
Roof vent with an integrated fan
A roof vent member with an integrated fan assembly is disclosed. The fan assembly may be installed, removed, replaced, maintained, etc. from underneath the roof without having to get on the roof or otherwise disrupt the roof envelope. The roof vent may include a subflashing, the fan assembly, sealing elements, screens, and other features. A secondary roof vent member may be included which may include solar panels. Associated methods of using the vent members, such as installing, removing, and replacing the vent member or various components thereof, are further disclosed.
Water cooled photovoltaic panel system
A cooling system for a photovoltaic panel including micro flat heat pipes (HP) integrated with thermoelectric generators (TEG) and a cooled water reservoir for cooling the working fluid in heat pipes. The cooled water in the reservoir is pumped from the condensate pan of an air conditioner. Experimental results show that cooling system reduced the average temperature of the panel by as much as 19° C. or 25%. Further, the output power of the photovoltaic panel increased by 44% when the photovoltaic panel was used in a very hot climate (30-40° C.). An additional two watts of power was generated by the TEGs.
POLLUTANT REMOVING AIR GROOVE
An air purification system with specific plants having microbes on rhizosphere/roots capable of removing pollutants from a surrounding environment. The system has a plurality of axial fans provided at an inlet and an outlet to facilitate flow of polluted air in and clean air out. The system has a perforated plate for collecting water in a water tank. The water tank with pump are for regular watering of the plants. The system has a pipe and nozzles for spraying of water with nutrients and a sensor for detecting pollutants. The system is capable of reducing a wide range of pollutants, such as particulate matter, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), sulfur oxides (SOx) and nitrogen oxides (NOx).
Heat extraction with water cooling system
A device for mounting a light bulb and bulb base to a ground stake having a mounting ring for attaching a bulb and a bulb base to the ground stake. A sealing ring is disposed in the mounting ring having the bulb received in an upper end of the sealing ring and the bulb base secured to the lower end of the sealing ring whereby the sealing ring restricts moisture from flowing around the bulb and into the bulb base when the bulb is screwed into the sealing ring.
STORAGE SOURCE AND CASCADE HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS
A heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) system includes a heating fluid circuit, a cooling fluid circuit, and a storage fluid circuit. A thermal system of the HVACR system absorbs energy from the storage fluid circuit and rejects it to the heating fluid circuit. The storage fluid circuit includes thermal storage tanks containing thermal storage material that can provide energy for heating or absorb energy for cooling depending on the state of the thermal storage material. Heating can be provided using the heating fluid circuit and the heat provided by the thermal system. Cooling can be provided using the cooling fluid circuit by absorbing energy from the conditioned space using a cooling fluid and rejecting energy from the cooling fluid to the storage fluid circuit including the thermal storage tanks. The thermal storage tanks can also have heat added to them using an air source heat pump system to provide sufficient storage for heating operations.
PHOTOVOLTAIC PANEL SYSTEM ASSEMBLY METHOD
