Heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system override systems and methods

A heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) includes a processor and a plurality of sensors. The plurality of sensors can collect a first set of data indicative of environmental conditions of a structure in which the HVAC control device is located. The HVAC control device can control operational settings of an HVAC system that can supply conditioned air to the structure and operate the HVAC system in a default mode. The HVAC control device can also receive a second set of data collected by one or more sensors of a secondary input device and receive a signal from the secondary input device. Additionally, the HVAC control device can implement an override mode of the control device based on the signal. Implementation of the override mode effectuates a change in the operational settings of the HVAC system.

An HVAC controller may have an operational mode in which the HVAC controller provides operational instructions, and a commissioning mode in which a plurality of wireless devices can be enrolled. While in the commissioning mode, the HVAC controller is configured to accept a first input from a user via the user interface that designates a first zone of the plurality of zones and causes each of two or more first wireless devices that are subsequently placed in an enrollment mode by the user to be enrolled in the first zone, and to subsequently accept a second input from the user via the user interface that designates a second zone of the plurality of zones and causes each of two or more second wireless devices that are subsequently placed in an enrollment mode by the user to be enrolled in the second zone.

AIR CONDITIONER AND METHOD FOR AIR VOLUME BALANCING

An air conditioner at least including a controller, a first fan unit, and a second fan unit arranged parallel to the first fan unit is disclosed. The controller performs a parallel operating control procedure, including a first control mode and a second control mode, to the first fan unit and the second fan unit respectively. When operating under the first control mode, the controller adjusts the rotating speed of one of the first fan unit and the second fan unit based on a first standard air volume, so the two fan units output the air volume equal to or approximate to the first standard air volume. When operating under the second control mode, the controller controls the rotating speed of both the first and second fan units according to a second standard air volume, so the two fan units output the same air volume.

Selecting a fallback temperature sensor for no occupancy

In some examples, a method for controlling the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system in a building includes receiving user input indicating a fallback temperature sensor from a plurality of temperature sensors in the building, the plurality of temperature sensors in the building being associated with a plurality of spaces within the building. The method also includes determining, by the controller, that the plurality of spaces within the building are unoccupied. The method further includes determining, by the controller, a temperature sensed by the fallback temperature sensor based on communication between the controller and the fallback temperature sensor. The method includes causing, by the controller, the HVAC system to turn on or off based on the temperature at the fallback temperature sensor in response to determining that the plurality of spaces within the building are unoccupied.

An unknown state value in a structure neuron value in a neural network, in one embodiment, is determined by using the difference between known values and output at an equivalent model location. The accuracy of model produced values with known values are determined compared to the known values. How much the known model produced locations were used to determine the unknown state value is determined. These amounts and accuracy of the model produced values are used to determine accuracy of the model produced value of the unknown state value.

Wirelessly configuring climate control system controls

An example HVAC system includes an HVAC component, and an HVAC control configured to control the HVAC component according to an HVAC system configuration parameter. The HVAC control includes a controller wireless interface and a memory. The system also includes a mobile device having a user interface and a mobile wireless interface in wireless communication with the controller wireless interface of the HVAC control. The mobile device is configured to display the HVAC system configuration parameter on the user interface, receive user input settings for the HVAC system configuration parameter, and wirelessly transmit the received user input settings to the controller wireless interface of the HVAC control. The HVAC control is configured to store the received user input settings in the memory of the HVAC control to control the HVAC component. Example methods of controlling an HVAC system are also disclosed.

HVAC system prognostics

An HVAC system includes a controller configured to receive weather forecast information including anticipated future outdoor temperatures. Based at least in part on the weather forecast information, the controller determines that test-initiation criteria are satisfied for testing operation of the HVAC system in a test mode. In response to determining that the test-initiation criteria are satisfied, the controller determines that current weather conditions are suitable for operating the HVAC system in the test mode for a test time period. The HVAC system is operated in the test mode for the test time period. Following operation of the HVAC system in the test mode for the test time period, the controller determines whether a predefined change in an indoor air temperature is achieved. If the predefined change in the indoor air temperature is achieved, the test is passed. Otherwise, the test is failed.
