System for personalized indoor microclimates
11614253 · 2023-03-28 · ·

A network of wireless remote climate sensors in a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system permits the creation of personalized microclimates within an enclosed space. In addition to collecting temperature and humidity data, the wireless remote climate sensors can detect whether the enclosed space is occupied by a human. Human detection is made possible by optional cameras, microphones, and gas sensors on the wireless remote climate sensors. As the human moves throughout the enclosed space, the HVAC system is able to track the human's movement using the wireless remote climate sensors. The HVAC system may adjust airflow to different portions of the enclosed space based on the human's location. The result is an efficient use of system resources to keep users at their ideal temperature.

Systems and methods for intelligent pic valves with agent interaction

A flow control device is configured to control fluid flow in an HVAC system. The flow control device includes a valve, an actuator configured to open and close the valve, and one or more sensors. The flow control device further includes a fault detection and correction agent configured to receive data from the one or more sensors, analyze the data according to a set of rules, and detect whether one or more faults have occurred. In response to detecting a fault, the fault detection and correction agent is configured to either operate the actuator to open or close the valve or initiate a corrective action to be taken by another device in the HVAC system.

Damper fault detection

A damper controller may be configured to send damper control commands to open and close an outdoor air damper to provide free cooling as necessary to satisfy a temperature setpoint inside the building. In some cases, the damper controller may initiate a damper fault test to determine if a damper fault is present. The damper fault test may be based, at least in part, on an outdoor air temperature input, a discharge air temperature input, a commanded damper position, and a damper fault temperature threshold. If a damper fault is determined, the damper controller may send an alert indicative of a detected damper fault. In some cases, the damper fault test results may be weighted to reduce the false positives alerts.

Air conditioner indoor unit, air conditioner, and method for controlling air conditioner

An air conditioner indoor unit includes a housing having an air inlet, a first air outlet, and a second air outlet arranged below the first air outlet, and an air output door assembly arranged at the second air outlet and connected to the housing. At least a portion of the air output door assembly is configured to move relative to the housing to form an air output channel between the at least a portion of the air output door assembly and the housing. The air output channel has a ring-shaped air output end located in front of the second air outlet. The air conditioner indoor unit further includes an opening-closing mechanism movably mounted at the air output door assembly and configured to open or close an air regulation channel area that includes an upper part of the air output channel.

Systems, apparatus and methods for operating an environmental control system that delivers dehumidified outdoor air into a conditioned space through an air valve. The method includes establishing CO.sub.2 setpoints corresponding to a ventilation outdoor air flow rate and a dehumidification outdoor air flow rate, determining a humidity metric of the conditioned space, and delivering outside air to the conditioned space at the ventilation outdoor air flow rate or dehumidification outdoor air flow rate based upon the humidity metric. The outside air may be tempered with return air from the conditioned space. The dehumidification CO.sub.2 set point is determined by predicting the dehumidification CO.sub.2 set point based on the airflow quantity per occupant and the relationship of the occupant predicted water vapor emission rate and CO.sub.2 emission rate.

Automated climate control system with override

According to one embodiment, a system includes a first and second cooling system, an automation controller, one or more sensors, and a hardware controller separate from the automation controller. The hardware controller processes various temperature set points in conjunction with a timer and configures the activation or deactivation of the first and second cooling systems accordingly.

Method for backflow prevention in an airflow plenum of a modular data center

A modular data center (MDC) includes a volumetric container comprising an enclosure having first and second exterior walls at a forward and an aft end, connected by lateral exterior walls. Information technology component(s) are positioned longitudinally within the container between a cold aisle and a hot aisle. An air handling system includes two or more air handling units (AHUs) each having a return air inlet and a supply air outlet. A supply air plenum directs cooling air flow from the supply air outlets to a supply air opening positioned adjacent to the cold aisle. Backflow prevention mechanisms are positioned respectively at each supply air outlet of the AHUs. Each backflow prevention mechanism is moveable into an open position to allow cooling air flow out of the supply air outlet of a corresponding AHU and a closed position in response to deactivation of an air mover of the corresponding AHU.
