An air conditioner includes a cabinet including a front opening provided at a front surface thereof and a rear opening provided at a rear surface thereof; a heat exchanger provided inside the cabinet; a plurality of fans provided inside the cabinet and configured to allow air to pass through the heat exchanger; and a processor configured to control the plurality of fans so that in a cooling operation mode and a dehumidification operation mode, the plurality of fans are rotated in one direction so that the air is sucked through the rear opening, passes through the heat exchanger, and then is discharged through the front opening, and in an automatic cleaning operation mode, the plurality of fans are rotated in an opposite direction so that the air is sucked through the front opening, passes through the heat exchanger, and then is discharged through the rear opening.

The method first comprises cleaning the dirty condenser coils of the refrigeration unit which are contained in an enclosure within such refrigeration unit having an opening. When the coils are in a cleaned condition the enclosure holding those coils is then covered with a non-vented cover that comprises an air-cleaning blower mounted on the outer surface of the cover over an orifice in the cover communicating with the enclosure to supply cleaned air to the enclosure containing the condenser coils.

The system and method calculate a SEER rating using the total amount of heat removed by the HVAC system and the total power usage of the HVAC system.

A flexible hose is selectively attachable to either an inlet port or an outlet port on the top plate member. The contents (air and/or liquid) within the variable volume chamber are forced out of the outlet port upon forced downward movement of the top plate member towards the base plate member. As the top plate member returns to a normally relaxed state in separated, angled relation to the base plate, the variable volume chamber enlarges and air is sucked through the inlet port to fill the variable volume chamber. An opposite end of the flexible hose attaches to various adapters and fittings for clearing clogged drain lines and other conduits.

In the cleaning mode, the controller controls the humidifier to raise the humidity in the room, and then controls the indoor unit to perform a cleaning motion of cleaning a surface of the indoor heat exchanger by generating dew condensation water on the surface of the indoor heat exchanger.
