Systems and methods of detecting an obstructed furnace air filter using a pressure sensor
The disclosed technology includes systems and methods for detecting an obstructed air filter in a furnace. The disclosed technology can include a method and system that includes an air inlet, an air filter for filtering particles from air passing through the air inlet, an air moving device, a fuel valve, a burner, a pressure sensor, and a controller in communication with the pressure sensor and configured to output an alarm signal when the controller receives differential pressure data from the pressure sensor that indicates that the air filter is obstructed.
FURNACE
A furnace is disclosed. The furnace may include an enclosure having a vertical support column formed by a heat exchanger compartment panel and a blower compartment panel. The furnace may include a window assembly having venting openings hidden by a viewing window. The furnace may also include a rail to support a removable heat exchanger system. The furnace may further include a wire retaining fin assembly to retain a wire. A heat exchanger header design including features to retain a sealant is also disclosed.
FUEL-FIRED APPLIANCE WITH EXHAUST DILUTION
A fuel-fired heating appliance comprises a fuel source, an air source, a chamber in which fuel and air mix, a burner downstream from the mixing chamber, an igniter proximate the burner, a heat exchanger, a blower and a flue pipe. An ambient air inlet may be defined by at least one of the outlet end of the blower and the flue pipe extending between the interior of the flue pipe and an area ambient to the flue pipe. A flow rate of combustion gas may be controlled to a level below a steady-state flow rate during appliance warm-up.
Dual fuel heating system
A dual fuel heating system can be used in a gas appliance. A dual fuel heating system can have a fuel selector valve for selecting between a first fuel and a second fuel different from the first. The dual fuel heating system can include a regulator unit configured to regulate the pressure of the two different fuels. The selector valve determines which flow path for which fuel is open and which is closed.
Forced air heater burner
One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a burner assembly. The burner assembly can comprise a tube that introduces a combustible fuel into a burner chamber, through an opening in a solid back wall plate. The burner chamber can be defined by the solid back wall plate, a solid front wall plate, and a side wall, where the side wall can comprise a mesh layer and/or a ridged porous layer. The fuel can be expelled from pores disposed in the side wall to the outer periphery of the burner's side wall in a substantially uniform manner, where combustion of the fuel can produce a relatively uniform, omni-directional flame at the outer surface of the burner's side wall.
Hot air blower
A hot air blower, according to the present invention, which can have the advantage of allowing the inside of a combustion body assembly (40) to be easily opened during a failure since the hot air blower has a structure for maintaining a coupled state when a service cover (80) is closed, and for rotating to an upper side only when the service cover (80) is opened.
INDIRECT GAS FURNACE
A high turndown furnace is provided for an air handling system. In one example, the furnace is provided with a plurality of tubes divisible by four with a first modulating valve supplying gas to of the tubes and a second modulating valve supplying gas to of the tubes. In one aspect, the furnace is capable of providing a 16:1 turndown. In one aspect, the furnace is capable of providing seamless turndown operation throughout the entire firing range.
Heat dispersing element
A heat dispersing element for a standard propane torch head for the generation of silent heat. This heat dispersing element attaches directly to the head of a propane torch and operates silently. The heat dispersing element accepts the heat of the torch and silently disperses the heat through the burn plate and directs it outward silently. This is done through a series of openings.
