COMBINED SOLAR HEATING AND THERMOELECTRIC GENERATION SYSTEM
A solar energy converter including a solar concentration module, thermal storage unit, and power-conversion unit is described. The concentration module reorients and concentrates sunlight to gather solar heat into the converter. The thermal storage unit absorbs and releases excess thermal energy both for heating and electricity generation. The power-conversion unit generates electricity using the heat gradient within the converter. The disclosed solar energy converter can further be incorporated into a larger system to optimize operation.
Spatial structure of a photovoltaic module or a concentrator of solar radiation
A spatial structure of a photovoltaic module or of a concentrator of solar radiation includes a base body having an upper truncated pyramid or cone arranged on a lower truncated pyramid or cone. An area of a bottom base of the upper truncated pyramid or cone is smaller than an area of a top base of the lower truncated pyramid or cone. An inclination angle of the lower and upper truncated pyramid or cone is in a range of 60 to 85. At least one pyramid-shaped or cone-shaped concentration projection is arranged on one or both of: the top base of the lower truncated pyramid or cone or a top base of the upper truncated pyramid or cone, wherein the inclination angle of the concentration projection is in a range of 20 to 55.
LIGHT ENERGY HARVESTING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A light energy harvesting apparatus includes an optical element, at least one LED, and a power storage device. The optical element is configured to receive at least one incoming light beam and disperse the at least one incoming light beam into a light spectrum, the light spectrum being defined by a plurality of spectral light beams. Each LED of the at least one LEDs is positioned to receive one of the plurality of spectral light beams and output an electrical power signal therefrom.
A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COLLECTING, STORING AND RELEASING ENERGY
The present disclosure provides a system and method for collecting, focusing, storing, and releasing energy. The system comprises of a collector unit (102) provided for collecting energy (101) released from a source (110) using optical means. A storage unit (103) is operatively connected to the collector unit (102) for storing the collected energy using optical means and a reflector unit (104) is operatively connected to the storage unit (103) for reflecting the stored energy released from the storage unit (103) using optical means.
