A smart ball (100) comprising: an inner sphere portion (12) consisting of a cork like material and an outer sphere (19) that ensconces said inner sphere, said inner sphere further comprising: a cylindrical cavity (14), located substantially at the core of said ball, said cavity formed by drilling into said cork from an operative top side; a sensor assembly (16) placed in the centre of said cylindrical cavity along a reference plane defined by a locus of points wherein said points being collinear points running from a first end of said seam (18) to a second end of said seam, thereby ensuring that orthogonal measurements of said sensor assembly being aligned with orthogonal axes of said ball; and a charging port on said seam, said charging port connected to a battery placed in said cylindrical cavity and said battery connected to said sensor assembly.

A leather-adhered baseball/softball, comprises a ball core, and a wrapping layer formed over the ball core by a mold, wherein the mold is engraved with raised lines of baseball/softball stitches, such that the molded wrapping layer has a raised baseball/softball stitch guide; the baseball/softball stitch guide is used to align a ball leather, such that the ball leather is aligned and adhered onto the wrapping layer except the baseball/softball stitch guide by an adhesive, so as to form a baseball/softball cover having the baseball/softball stitch guide; or the ball leather is aligned and molded on the wrapping layer except the baseball/softball stitch guide by a mold from a formulated leather raw material, so as to form a baseball/softball cover having the baseball/softball stitch guide. Also disclosed is a method for manufacturing a leather-adhered baseball/softball.

A sporting ball includes a ball core unit, a main body unit and an outer covering unit. The ball core unit includes a spherical cork body, and a rubber layer covering the cork body. The main body unit includes a yarn layer having at least one piece of yarn wrapped around the ball core body, and a rubber film layer fixedly covering the yarn layer and being immovable relative to the yarn layer. The outer covering unit fixedly covers an outer surface of the main body unit. A method of manufacturing the sporting ball is also disclosed.

The present invention compromises a novel softball training aid that accelerates the ability an understanding of throwing and spinning a softball in different orientations. In various embodiments the invention will help create and maintain a more effective pitcher and/or softball player

A sports ball, such as a lacrosse ball, comprising, an outer shell layer defining an enclosure having an interior volume for housing a filler material, the outer shell layer comprising a plurality of sections (pads or panels) connected along a plurality of seams, the sections having an outer surface comprising one or more layers of a substantially smooth non-woven synthetic leather, such as a synthetic suede, microfiber, or micro-velour, with an optional surface coating, which produce a frictional resistance (coefficient of friction) which decreases ball slippage against a surface or when released from the strings of a lacrosse stick.

A lacrosse training ball that is made up of a shell that defines an enclosure having an interior volume is disclosed. The shell includes a plurality of pads connected along a plurality of seams sewn with a thread having a finishing knot. The interior volume is substantially occupied by a filler that includes a mixture of a first material and a second material.

A ball, and in particular a baseball or softball, including one or more sensors such as accelerometers and/or inertial measurement units, and systems and methods using the same to improve a pitcher's pitching performance are described herein. In some embodiments, the ball may include one or more inertial measurement units and/or accelerometers capable of monitoring motion of the ball while it is thrown. Once a ball is thrown, in response to the inertial measurement unit(s) and/or accelerometer(s), one or more indicators may be caused to perform an action. For example, one or more user interfaces may be used to display graphs for illustrating a trajectory of a ball after it has been thrown. Various statistics, such as velocity, a change in vertical displacement, a change in horizontal displacement, and a spin rate may also be indicated on the user interface.
