A geothermal heat mining system can operate within a single primary borehole in a geothermal reservoir. A primary fluid loop can include a cold working fluid line leading into the primary borehole and a hot working fluid line coming out of the primary borehole. A secondary fluid loop can be located down the primary borehole, where the secondary fluid loop is in thermal contact with the geothermal reservoir and is entirely subsurface. A downhole heat mining device can control a rate of heat transfer from the secondary fluid loop to the primary fluid loop by selectively controlling fluid flow through the primary fluid loop, the secondary fluid loop, or both.

Geothermal based water desalination system with multiple tanks

The water desalination system using geothermal energy includes a plurality of heat transfer rods. Desalinated water flows into the injector and reaches the evaporation chamber, wherein the evaporation chamber receives heat geothermally via a plurality of heat transfer rods 18. Further, the heat transfer rods 18 heat the water in the evaporation chamber, which results in the formation of steam. The steam is carried to one or more storage tanks by means of one or more pipes. The steam generated from the evaporation chamber on reaching the storage tanks get condensed and water is formed.

GEOTHERMAL ENERGY SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PRODUCING POWER USING SAME
20210140413 · 2021-05-13 ·

A geothermal energy system utilizes supercritical CO2 turbine and a radial outflow reaction turbine, a Catherine Wheel having wheel arms, that spins around an axle to produce power. A fin portion extends from the radial portion at an offset angle, to an exhaust end. A first working fluid, such as supercritical carbon dioxide flows through an arm conduit within the wheel arm and a second working fluid, such as a hydrocarbon mixes with the first working fluid and both flow through a turbine. The turbine may be configured within the wheel arm conduit or mounted prior to the Catherine Wheel or any other radial outflow reaction turbine, or variable phase turbines available, and it turns as the combined working fluids expand and vaporize. The second working fluid may be condensed and recirculated while the first working fluid is expelled back into a geothermal reservoir.
