According to some embodiments, a floating cold thermal energy storage vessel comprises an ice battery. The ice battery comprises a storage tank configured to store thermal energy in the form of ice and chilled liquid, and a chiller coupled to a refrigerant loop. The refrigerant loop is coupled to the storage tank and operable to transfer thermal energy between the chiller and storage tank to form ice. The ice battery further comprises a heat exchanger coupled to the refrigerant loop, a liquid inlet, and a liquid outlet. The heat exchanger is configured to cool heated liquid received from the liquid inlet and supply cooled liquid to the liquid outlet using the thermal energy stored in the storage tank via the refrigerant loop. According to some embodiments, a regasification and cold thermal energy storage system comprises an ice battery and a liquefied gas regasification system.

CRYOGENIC ENERGY SYSTEM FOR COOLING AND POWERING AN INDOOR ENVIRONMENT

A cryogenic energy system for cooling and powering an indoor environment includes a cryogenic open loop comprising a cryogen source to supply a cryogen and at least one transfer-expansion stage in fluid connection with the cryogen source, each transfer-expansion stage comprising at least one heat exchanger for heat transfer therein from a hot fluid to the cryogen and a power unit for expansion therein of the cryogen that has been heated in the at least one heat exchanger to generate electricity, the at least one heat exchanger including an evaporator; and a heat supply open loop configured to provide the hot fluid for heat exchange with the cryogen in the at least one heat exchanger; the cryogenic energy system configured to perform heat removal from a first heat transfer loop of a conventional cooling system, the first heat transfer loop transferring heat obtained from air in the indoor environment.

The unit further includes a diverter assembly arranged between the first pumping assembly and the heat exchanger and configured to switch between a first state in which the first fluid is directed through the heat exchanger before reaching the first outlet port and a second state in which the first fluid is directly directed to the first outlet port.

The cooling systems of the present disclosure include a first refrigerant circuit in thermal communication with a heat load and in fluid communication with a main condenser, a free cooling circuit in fluid communication with the main condenser and a free-cooled water source, a chilled water circuit in fluid communication with the main condenser and an evaporator, and a second refrigerant circuit in fluid communication with the evaporator and a secondary condenser. The free cooling circuit is in thermal communication with the first refrigerant circuit via the main condenser, the chilled water circuit is in thermal communication with the first refrigerant circuit via the main condenser, and the second refrigeration circuit is in thermal communication with the chilled water circuit and the free cooling circuit. The second refrigeration circuit cools a fluid flowing in the chilled water circuit. Methods of operating a cooling system are also disclosed.

REFRIGERATION CYCLE APPARATUS

A refrigeration cycle apparatus comprises a refrigerant circuit, a water circuit, and a control device. The refrigerant circuit includes a compressor, a four-way valve, a heat exchanger, a fan, a diaphragm mechanism, a water heat exchanger, and an accumulator. Based on a value of a low-pressure sensor or a high-pressure sensor and a water temperature on an outlet side of the water heat exchanger, the refrigeration cycle apparatus determines whether or not there is an abnormality due to dirtiness adhered to a plate inside the water heat exchanger.

Embodiments may also include a heat transfer panel disposed between the outer layer and the inner layer. In some embodiments, the heat transfer panel includes a first side and a second side, the first side disposed adjacent the interior of the apparel body. Embodiments may also include a compressed fluid source in fluid communication with the second side of the heat transfer panel. In some embodiments, the compressed fluid source may be configured to selectively deliver compressed fluid to the heat transfer panel. In some embodiments, the heat transfer panel may be configured to cool the interior of the apparel body upon delivery of the compressed fluid to the heat transfer panel.

An electronic expansion valve and a manufacturing method therefor, a thermal management assembly and a cooling system are provided. The electronic expansion valve includes a valve core assembly, an electronic control part and a stator assembly. The valve core assembly includes a valve base, a valve core and a rotor assembly, wherein the valve base is provided with a valve port, and the valve core moves relative to the valve base to change the degree of opening of the valve port. The electronic control part controls the stator assembly, and the rotor assembly drives the valve core to move. The electronic expansion valve further includes a sensor, the electronic control part includes an electronic control board, and the stator assembly and the sensor are both directly electrically connected to the electronic control board. The thermal management assembly and the cooling system both include the electronic expansion valve.

Multi-mode air drying system

A compressed air drying system is provided for removing moisture from compressed air. The dryer operates in two modes in response to the demand for compressed air. In a first mode of operation, a refrigeration compressor runs continuously and the speed of a condenser fan is varied to maintain a constant cooling temperature. In a second mode of operation, the refrigeration compressor runs intermittently between on and off periods. As result, the cooling temperature fluctuates during the second mode of operation.

INTEGRATED DILUTION REFRIGERATORS

A dilution refrigerator is provided. The dilution refrigerator includes a plurality of thermalization plates configured to be cooled to a plurality of temperatures, and a first thermalization plate of the plurality of thermalization plates includes an integrated heat exchanger. The integrated heat exchanger includes channels formed in the first thermalization plate, and the channels are configured to allow helium to flow through the first thermalization plate during operation of the dilution refrigerator to improve heat exchange and cooling power of the dilution refrigerator.
