wherein
R.sub.1 is an alkyl residue containing 6 to 20 carbon atoms, or an alkene residue containing from 9 to 25 carbon atoms with 1 to 6 double bonds, R.sub.1 together with the carbonyl group to which it is attached is a residue of a carboxylic acid, and NR.sub.2R.sub.3, in which R.sub.3 is H or together with R.sub.2 and the N-atom to which they are attached, a 5-membered ring, is a residue of an amino acid, in particular a proteinogenic amino acid, ornithine, gamma-aminobutyric acid or beta alanine, or a 1-amino cycloalkyl carboxylic acid.
Bacillus sp. strain with improved productivity of fermented soybean meal and method for producing fermented soybean meal using the same
The present invention relates to a Bacillus amyloliquefaciens K2G strain, which is excellent in removal of anti-nutritional factors and in protease activity, and shows excellent antimicrobial activity against pathogens and reduced productivity of viscous substances, a method for producing a fermented soybean meal using the strain, a fermented soybean meal produced therefrom, and a feed composition including the same. The fermented soybean meal prepared by Bacillus amyloliquefaciens K2G strain according to the present invention has few anti-nutritional factors such as trypsin inhibitors, soybean oligosaccharides, and polysaccharides, a high content of crude proteins, and high protein solubility, and also consists of small-sized peptides digestible by livestock due to low-molecularization, thereby being effectively used as a high-quality vegetable protein feed having excellent absorption rate and feed efficiency.
METHODS OF SEPARATING FILAMENTOUS FUNGI AND OTHER COMPONENTS FROM MOLD-FERMENTED COMPOSITIONS, AND USES OF SEPARATED COMPONENTS
Methods of separating components traditionally considered as waste material from mold-fermented compositions are described. The waste components can be separated either from unfiltered compositions or from a separation stream separated from a composition. In some embodiments, filamentous fungus used in the production of the mold-fermented composition is specifically targeted for separation. Incorporation of separated waste components into various products are also described herein. In some embodiments, the separated components are used in alternative meat products and other foods designed for human consumption. Separated components can also be used in animal feed, as feed stock for other fermentation processes, or for use in treating food, creating cosmetics, or chemical processes.
PLANT-BASED PRODUCT AND PROCESS
A process for producing a plant-based food product includes providing a suspension including starch and protein, heating the suspension to obtain a warm suspension, preparing a suspension including partly hydrolyzed starch by treating the warm suspension with at least one starch degrading enzyme, subjecting the suspension including partly hydrolyzed starch to heat treatment to obtain a heat-treated suspension including the partly hydrolyzed starch, cooling the heat-treated suspension, and fermenting and/or acidifying the suspension including the partly hydrolyzed starch, and further cooling and/or adding jam, beta-glucan, flavoring and/or additives to said suspension, and obtaining a plant-based food product.
N-acyl-amino acid derivatives for improvement of the flavor profile of edible compositions
The use of a compound according to formula (I) or the edible salts thereof in an edible composition to mask or modulate an undesired taste or off-taste contained in the edible composition ##STR00001## wherein R.sub.1 is an alkyl residue containing 6 to 20 carbon atoms, or an alkene residue containing from 9 to 25 carbon atoms with 1 to 6 double bonds, R.sub.1 together with the carbonyl group to which it is attached is a residue of a carboxylic acid, and NR.sub.2R.sub.3, in which R.sub.3 is H or together with R.sub.2 and the N-atom to which they are attached, a 5-membered ring, is a residue of an amino acid, in particular a proteinogenic amino acid, ornithine, gamma-aminobutyric acid or beta alanine, or a 1-amino cycloalkyl carboxylic acid.
Indigenous and Improved Bacterially Fermented CBD, CBG and Related Cannabinoid Oral Dosage Forms
The present invention is a cannabidiol (CBD), cannabigerol (CBG) or related cannabinoid oral dosage form including bacterially fermented hemp, typically compounded as a tablet or formulated within a capsule or as an additive to other dietary supplements or functional foods. The dosage forms contain dietary fiber, important to activity as the desired delivery system, having a ratio of one part soluble dietary fiber to 30 parts insoluble dietary fiber, which is an optimal fiber ratio for oral delivery and bioavailability of cannabidiol, cannabigerol and other desirable cannabinoids from either activated or native hemp.
