Thermal management systems

A thermal management system includes a refrigerant receiver having a refrigerant receiver outlet and a refrigerant receiver inlet, with the refrigerant receiver configured to store a refrigerant fluid, an ejector having a primary flow inlet coupled to receive the refrigerant fluid from the receiver, a secondary flow inlet and an outlet. The system also includes a liquid separator having an inlet, a vapor side outlet, and a liquid side outlet, an evaporator arrangement to extract heat from a heat load proximate or in contact with the evaporator arrangement, with the evaporator arrangement coupled to the ejector and the liquid separator, a closed-circuit refrigeration system having a closed-circuit fluid path including the refrigerant receiver, the evaporator arrangement, and the liquid separator, the closed-circuit refrigeration system configured to receive refrigerant fluid from the refrigerant receiver, and an open-circuit refrigeration system having an open-circuit fluid path that includes the receiver, the evaporator arrangement, and the liquid separator, that is configured to receive refrigerant fluid from the refrigerant receiver.

SINGLE-STAGE ENTHALPY ENHANCING ROTARY COMPRESSOR AND AIR CONDITIONER HAVING SAME

A single-stage enthalpy enhancing rotary compressor and an air conditioner having same. The single-stage enthalpy enhancing rotary compressor includes: at least one single-stage cylinder, a rotator, an upper flange, and a lower flange. The rotator is arranged inside the cylinder and is rotatable, a compression chamber is formed between the rotator and an inner peripheral wall of the cylinder, a vapor injection opening is defined in at least one of the upper flange the lower flange, and the vapor injection opening is configured to supply gas outside the compressor to the compression chamber directly. According to the present disclosure, two-stage compression is realized without adding an extra cylinder, thereby effectively enhancing a circulation of refrigerant, improving cooling performance of the air conditioner under high environmental temperatures.

A centrifugal separation type oil separator includes an oil separator body having a cylindrical body portion, and a bent pipe provided on an outer peripheral side of the body portion to surround the body portion in a circumferential direction, to introduce a fluid containing an oil into the oil separator body. The bent pipe includes an outer wall portion extending in the circumferential direction of the body portion and expanding radially outward from the body portion, and an inner wall portion extending along the outer wall portion and blocking an open part of the outer wall portion. The outer wall portion and the inner wall portion are formed by different members. An upper side of the body portion is open. The oil separator body has an upper cover blocking an open portion of the body portion. The inner wall portion and the upper cover are formed by an integral member.

Air conditioner

An air conditioner may include a compressor that compresses refrigerant; a condenser that condenses the refrigerant; at least one expansion valve that expands the refrigerant; a gas-liquid separator that separates and discharges the refrigerant into gas refrigerant and liquid refrigerant; an evaporator that evaporates the liquid refrigerant discharged from the gas-liquid separator; a refrigerant inflow pipe that connects the expansion valve and the gas-liquid separator; a bypass pipe that connects the gas-liquid separator and the compressor; and a refrigerant discharge pipe that connects the gas-liquid separator and the evaporator. The gas-liquid separator may include a housing in which a portion of the refrigerant inflow pipe, the bypass pipe, and the refrigerant discharge pipe may be disposed, and first and second partition walls disposed in the housing.

COOLING DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR COOLING DEVICE

A cooling device using a refrigeration cycle in which a refrigerant is circulated through a heat receiver, a compressor, a heat radiator, and an expansion valve includes: a gas-liquid separator configured to perform gas-liquid separation on the refrigerant supplied from the expansion valve; a pump configured to send a liquid phase refrigerant separated by the gas-liquid separator to the heat receiver; and a control unit configured to control opening and closing of a refrigerant flow path of the refrigeration cycle, and an operation and stop of the compressor and the pump, wherein the control unit starts the operation of the pump on condition that a net positive suction head of the pump has reached a predetermined value or more.

Control of refrigeration and heat pump systems that include pressure exchangers

A system includes a pressure exchanger (PX). The PX is coupled to a motor that controls an operating speed of the PX. The system further includes a first pressure gauge configured to generate first pressure data indicative of a pressure of a fluid of a condenser. A first controller is to generate a first control signal based on the first pressure data. The motor of the PX is configured to adjust the operating speed of the PX based on the first control signal. The system further includes a pump. The system further includes a fluid density sensor for generating fluid density data associated with a first output fluid of the PX. A second controller is to generate a second control signal based on at least the fluid density data. The pump is to adjust an operating speed of the pump based on the second control signal.

Continuous Heating Control System and Method, and Air-Conditioning Device

A continuous heating control system and method, and an air-conditioning device. The system includes a defrosting solenoid valve (1) arranged on a bypass pipeline, wherein one end of the bypass pipeline is connected to an oil separator (2), and the other end of the bypass pipeline is connected to an outdoor heat exchanger (3); and a heating structure which is arranged at the bottom of a gas separator (4) and used for heating the gas separator (4).

A heat transfer apparatus includes a plurality of “n” number of control valves, each of the plurality of “n” number of control valves including a control valve inlet and a control valve outlet; a like plurality of “n” number of evaporator sections, each of the like plurality of “n” number of evaporator sections including an evaporator section inlet and an evaporator section outlet, each evaporator section inlet fluidly coupled to a corresponding one of the plurality of “n” number of control valve outlets, each evaporator section configured to extract heat from at least one heat load that is in thermal conductive or convective contact or proximate to the evaporator section; a refrigerant fluid inlet fluidly coupled to the like plurality of evaporator sections; and a refrigerant fluid outlet fluidly coupled to the like plurality of evaporator sections.

THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

A thermal management system includes a receiver configured to store a refrigerant fluid; a refrigeration system having a refrigerant fluid path that includes the receiver, and at least one evaporator disposed in the refrigerant fluid path. The refrigeration system is configured to receive the refrigerant fluid from the receiver through the refrigerant fluid path. The at least one evaporator is configured to receive the refrigerant fluid and to extract heat from at least one heat load having a specified thermal inertia that is in at least one of thermal conductive or convective contact with the at least one evaporator.
