AIR CONDITIONER

Tools, methods and systems for detecting and reporting the presence of an obstruction to an AC system of the present disclosure are able to detect the presence of the obstruction using one or more sensors connected to the air conditioning unit and displaying an alert on the computer system of the AC system when the sensors detect the presence of the obstruction. By displaying an alert at the computer system's output device, the presence of the obstruction is brought to the user's attention, allowing the user to take remedial action as needed before initiating the air conditioning system into operation, preventing the obstruction from harming the components of AC system if the system was initiated while the obstruction was still present. Additionally, the AC system may further disable or prevent the operation and initiation of itself when the sensors of the air conditioning system detect the presence of an obstruction.

Compressor and cooling system

A compressor includes: a heat exchanger configured to discharge heat generated during compression outside the compressor; a cooling liquid inlet port through which cooling liquid flowing from outside the compressor into the compressor passes; and a cooling liquid outlet port through which the cooling liquid flowing out of the compressor from inside the compressor passes. The compressor is configured such that an operation mode is switchable between a first mode in which the cooling liquid passing through the cooling liquid inlet port flows in the heat exchanger in a predetermined first direction and passes through the cooling liquid outlet port, and a second mode in which the cooling liquid passing through the cooling liquid inlet port flows in the heat exchanger in a second direction opposite to the first direction and passes through the cooling liquid outlet port.

System and method for electronic de-clogging of microcoolers

A microcooler includes a substrate with a first and second microchannel and an orifice disposed between, in fluid communication with both. A pair of electrodes is in a vicinity of the orifice. An electrical resistive heating material is in electrical communication with the electrodes and is in thermal contact with a fluid in the vicinity of the orifice. A system includes the microcooler and a voltage source to apply a voltage across the electrodes, which induces sufficient heating in the heating material to disassociate something clogging the orifice, without significant damage to the heating material. Some systems include a sensor configured to detect an effect of clogging at the orifice. A processor is configured to receive sensor output from the sensor, and if there is an effect of clogging, then cause the voltage to be applied across the electrodes.

Detecting and Handling a Blocked Condition in the Coil

A heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system comprises an outdoor unit with a fan and a coil, and a controller communicatively coupled to the fan and coil. The controller is operable to receive feedback data from the fan, where the feedback data from the fan corresponds to a power and a speed of the fan. The controller is further operable to store a fan model and a plurality of thresholds and determine a virtual sensor measurement, based at least in part upon the feedback data from the fan and the fan model. The controller is operable to determine that the virtual sensor measurement is greater than a frost threshold or a fouling threshold. The controller is finally operable to, in response to determining that the pressure difference is greater than the frost threshold or the fouling threshold, determine a blocked condition on the coil.

Cooling system with oil return to accumulator
12264858 · 2025-04-01 · ·

A cooling system drains oil from low side heat exchangers to vessels and then uses compressed refrigerant to push the oil in the vessels back towards a compressor. Generally, the cooling system operates in three different modes of operation: a normal mode, an oil drain mode, and an oil return mode. During the normal mode, a primary refrigerant is cycled to cool one or more secondary refrigerants. As the primary refrigerant is cycled, oil from a compressor may mix with the primary refrigerant and become stuck in a low side heat exchanger. During the oil drain mode, the oil in the low side heat exchanger is allowed to drain into a vessel. During the oil return mode, compressed refrigerant is directed to the vessel to push the oil in the vessel back towards a compressor.

THROTTLE DEVICE

Provided is a throttle device to decompress a refrigerant cooled by a condenser in a refrigerating cycle and to deliver the refrigerant to an evaporator, where a minimum space between a needle valve and a valve port can be accurately set. Inside a cylindrical main body case including a primary chamber connected to the condenser and a secondary chamber connected to the evaporator, a valve seat member formed with a valve port and a cylindrical guide member integral to the valve seat member are provided. A coil spring to energize the needle valve toward the valve port side is provided inside the guide member. A needle portion of the needle valve protrudes from the valve port toward the primary chamber. A tip portion of the needle portion abuts against a stopper member and the tip portion is thereby positioned.

FLUID TRANSFER APPARATUS

A fluid transfer apparatus includes a control device configured to determine whether or not a structure is in a clogged state, using a physical quantity obtained from a motor and correlated with a pressure loss in a fluid passage, At least one of a transfer section or the fluid passage is configured to make a proportion of a disturbance to the physical quantity small.
