The spring body is formed as a cylindrical body such that a plate-like body, which is obtained by punching a metallic plate through a press-forming process, is bent along a longitudinal direction of the plate-like body. A first pipe port of the first direction switching assembly is connected with the second air suction port, a second pipe port thereof is connected with the air discharge port and a third pipe port thereof is connected with the liquid accumulator, and the first pipe port is communicated with one of the second and third pipe ports.

A mounting arrangement secures a refrigerator compressor to a support base member through a plurality of elastomeric mounts secured on pin elements with retainers. The mounts include head portions which extend through openings provided in an elongated plate fixed to the compressor. The mounts are specifically formed with a rounded bottom to pre-load the mounting arrangement and prevent vibration transmission through cores of the mounts. In addition, each mount includes a plurality of vertically spaced rings which provide shock protection against a large impact force by deflecting and potentially contacting each other, while normal vertical isolation occurs by deflection of an uppermost one of the rings. The mounts are formed with various undercuts which allow the mounts to be optimized for the mass and operational frequency of the compressor.

A low vibration cryostat includes a cryocooler with a cold head having a flange and a cooling body extending from the flange. A housing is coupled to the cold head, with the housing having an opening receiving at least a portion of the cooling body. A first bellows extends between the housing and the flange to mitigate the transfer of vibrational forces between the housing and the flange. The first bellows, the flange, and the housing collectively define a first chamber. A force balancing assembly containing a second bellows is coupled to the housing and includes a second chamber spaced from the first chamber. The two chambers are arranged to create a net zero force on the cold head when the pressure in the bellows changes. A viscous damping assembly mitigates bouncing of the cold head on support springs.

The cold plate of a second cooling level is arranged above the cold plate of a first cooling level such that a portion of the first cold plate protrudes laterally from under the second cold plate. An experimentation place is disposed above the protruding portion of the first cold plate and is accessible from above and from the side.
