The present disclosure relates to a method for controlling a level of superheat during a pump mode of operation of a refrigeration system, wherein the refrigeration system can operate in either the pump mode or a compressor mode, and has an electronically controlled expansion valve (EEV). A controller obtains a stored, predetermined pump differential pressure range able to be produced by a pump of the system. The controller also obtains a stored, predetermined superheat range, and detects a superheat level. When the detected superheat level is outside of the superheat temperature range, the controller commands adjusting at least one of the EEV and a speed of the pump based on whether the detected superheat level is above or below the superheat range, and whether a current pump differential pressure is above or below the predetermined pump differential pressure range.

A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system for regulating humidity of an enclosed space. The HVAC system includes an evaporator coil. A metering device is fluidly coupled to the evaporator coil. A variable-speed compressor is fluidly coupled to the condenser coil and the evaporator coil and a controller is operatively coupled to the variable-speed compressor. A humidity sensor is operatively coupled to the controller and exposed to the enclosed space. Responsive to a determination that the relative humidity of the enclosed space exceeds the maximum humidity threshold, the controller adjusts a speed of the variable-speed compressor to increase latent capacity of the HVAC system. Responsive to a determination that the relative humidity of the enclosed space falls below the minimum humidity threshold, the controller adjusts a speed of the variable-speed compressor to decrease latent capacity of the HVAC system.

There is provided a vehicular air-conditioning device capable of reducing frost formation on an outdoor heat exchanger during vehicle running after disconnection from an external power source and extending a period during which a heating operation can be performed with high efficiency. A battery 55 is capable of being charged from an external power source. A controller 32 causes an outdoor heat exchanger 7 to absorb heat to thereby execute a heating operation to heat a vehicle interior. The controller 32 is capable of executing air preconditioning to preliminarily heat the vehicle interior before boarding. When the air preconditioning is executed in a state in which the battery 55 is connected to the external power source, the controller 32 heats the vehicle interior without using the outdoor heat exchanger 7, and changes a target temperature for heating control in the air preconditioning in the direction of increasing from a reference value of the target temperature.

An HVAC system includes an outdoor heat exchanger. A first indoor heat exchanger is fluidly coupled to the outdoor heat exchanger and disposed in a first zone. A second indoor heat exchanger is fluidly coupled to the outdoor heat exchanger and disposed in a second zone. A compressor is fluidly coupled to the outdoor heat exchanger, the first indoor heat exchanger, and the second indoor heat exchanger. A first circulation fan is positioned to circulate air around the first indoor heat exchanger and a second circulation fan is positioned to circulate air around the second indoor heat exchanger. A first zone controller is electrically coupled to the first indoor heat exchanger. The first zone controller is configured to measure a temperature in the first zone, compare the measured temperature to a setpoint temperature of the first zone, and responsive to a difference between the measured temperature and the setpoint temperature, adjust a speed of the first circulation fan independent of the speed of the second circulation fan.
