Heat pump water heater systems and methods thereto
A fluid heating device comprising a heat pump and an electric heating element can include a system and method that can receive current data from a current sensor and temperature data from a temperature sensor, determine whether the current is greater than or equal to a threshold current and whether the temperature is greater than or equal to a threshold temperature, and output a control signal to heat the fluid using the heat pump only or the electric heating element only based on the current data and the temperature data.
BLOCKED COIL DETECTION SYSTEM
A control system for a cooling system configured to selectively operate one or both of a condenser fan an evaporator fan in a reverse direction RD, measure power draw at the motor against configuration data and fan motor profiles, and determine if a blockage has occurred before the static pressure has reached a critical point static pressure where the efficiency, performance, and cooling capability of the cooling system is hindered and maintenance is required to clear the blockage. By determining if blockage has occurred before the static pressure has reached the critical point static pressure, an alert or corrective action can be taken.
Cryocooler, and diagnosis device and diagnosis method of cryocooler
A cryocooler includes a motion conversion mechanism that converts rotating motion output by a motor into linear reciprocating motion of a displacer and includes a first component and a second component slidably connected to each other, a measuring instrument that is connected to the motor to output time-series data indicating power consumption of the motor or a current flowing through the motor, and a processing unit that detects abrasion of a sliding surface between a first component and a second component of the motion conversion mechanism on the basis of section data including an intake start timing or an exhaust start timing in the time-series data.
Refrigeration cycle apparatus having heat exchanger switchable between parallel and series connection
A refrigeration cycle apparatus includes a refrigeration circuit in which non-azeotropic refrigerant mixture circulates. The refrigeration circuit includes a compressor, an outdoor heat exchanger, an indoor heat exchanger, an expansion valve, and a four-way valve. The four-way valve is configured to assume a first state and a second state. The outdoor heat exchanger includes a plurality of refrigerant flow paths and a linear flow path switching valve configured to switch connections of the plurality of refrigerant flow paths between a series state in which the non-azeotropic refrigerant mixture flows through the plurality of refrigerant flow paths in series and a parallel state in which the non-azeotropic refrigerant mixture flows through the plurality of refrigerant flow paths in parallel. A controller switches the linear flow path switching valve between the series state and the parallel state when a multi-way valve is in the second state.

A server for a control system for cooling systems is disclosed. The server includes a memory device configured to store instructions and a processor communicatively coupled to the memory device and a plurality of cooling systems. Each of cooling systems includes a motor, a sensor, a local memory, and a microprocessor communicatively coupled to the motor, the sensor, the local memory. The microprocessor is configured to control operation of the motor according to settings defined by configuration data stored in the local memory. In response to reading the instructions, the processor is configured to receive, from the sensor of each of the cooling systems, first sensor data, generate first configuration data by executing a first algorithm on the first sensor data, and instruct the microprocessor of at least one cooling system to write the first configuration data to the local memory of the at least one cooling system.
EXPANSION VALVE PERFORMANCE MONITORING IN REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
A method of detecting electrical failure in a refrigeration system is provided. The method includes determining whether a present superheat of the refrigeration system is between a maximum superheat and a minimum superheat for the refrigeration system, the maximum superheat and the minimum superheat defining a normal operating range. The method also includes detecting an electrical property of an expansion valve assembly of the refrigeration system responsive to the superheat being outside the normal operating range. The method further includes determining whether the expansion valve assembly as experienced an electrical failure based on at least the electrical property. A signal indicating that the expansion valve has experienced an electrical failure is generated based on a determination that the expansion valve assembly has experienced the electrical failure.
EXPANSION VALVE POSITION DETECTION IN REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
A refrigerated display case having a housing defining a temperature controlled space and a refrigeration system coupled to the housing is provided. The refrigeration system is configured to be operable to affect a temperature of the temperature controlled space. The refrigeration system includes an actuator, a controller, and a sensor. The controller is configured to continuously update a stored position of the actuator based on measurement of an electric current provided to the actuator, retrieve the stored position after a power failure, and restart control based on the stored position of the actuator. The sensor is configured to communicate with the controller.
Anomaly detection in a refrigeration condensor system
Embodiments for fault diagnosis and analysis of refrigeration condenser systems by a processor. An energy usage anomaly is detected in a condenser by comparing an energy usage profile of the condenser against a knowledge domain of energy usage standards and energy usage standards anomalies.
