ICE-MAKING DEVICE FOR REFRIGERATOR
An ice-making device in a refrigerator including water blocking walls configured to prevent water supplied to an ice tray from straying outside the ice tray. The ice-making device includes an upper frame and a lower frame. A water supply port is disposed in a rear wall of the upper frame and configured to supply water to an ice tray between the upper frame and the lower frame. An upper sidewall protrudes downward from the upper frame. A main water-blocking rib protrudes from the rear wall and configured to prevent water supplied from the water supply port from straying along the upper sidewall. An auxiliary water-blocking rib protrudes from the upper sidewall and can further prevent the water supplied from the water supply port from straying along the upper sidewall.
REFRIGERATOR
A refrigerator includes an ice-making unit disposed in the door and can make ice through direct cooling by a refrigerant without using cold air flow. A cold air generation system operates to circulate the refrigerant for supplying a cold air flow for the refrigerator. A refrigerant pipe is installed in the refrigerator main body to branch off some refrigerant from the cold air generation system. An ice-making pipe is installed within the ice-making unit and receives the refrigerant from the refrigerant pipe. Water freezes into ice through heat transfer between the ice-making unit and the ice-making pipe containing refrigerant. A soft pipe is disposed around a hinge shaft of the refrigerator main body and the door and configured to interconnect the ice-making pipe and the refrigerant pipe in a twistable manner.
ICE BIN AND REFRIGERATOR PROVIDED WITH THE ICE BIN
A refrigerator has an ice bin that can break ice piece agglomerates therein. The ice bin includes a breaking unit rotatably installed in a discharge port of the ice bin, the breaking unit including a stationary blade and rotatable blade. The ice bin also includes a separation blade rotatably installed parallel the breaking unit and configured to strike and separate ice pieces agglomerates into smaller pieces for discharging.
ICE-MAKING DEVICE FOR REFRIGERATOR
An ice-making device for a refrigerator including a duct providing a cold air flow path under an ice tray in which water turns into ice pieces. Uneven portions extending in a direction differing from a flow direction of cold air are formed at a lower surface of the ice tray. The duct may have a wavy surface. The surface features of the ice tray and the duct can advantageously increase contact area and contact time between cold air and the ice tray, thereby increasing the heat exchange efficiency between cold air and water contained in the ice tray.
REFRIGERATOR
A refrigerator includes a refrigerator main body configured to define an outer shell of the refrigerator and a door configured to open and close an internal space of the refrigerator main body. The refrigerator further includes an ice-making unit provided in the door and a cold air generation unit configured to circulate a refrigerant so that a cold air is supplied to the internal space. The refrigerator further includes an ice-making pipe installed within the ice-making unit so that the ice-making unit makes heat exchange with the refrigerant, a refrigerant pipe installed in the refrigerator main body so as to receive the refrigerant from the cold air generation unit, and a soft pipe disposed around a folding portion of the refrigerator main body and the door and configured to interconnect the ice-making pipe and the refrigerant pipe in a stretchable manner.
ICE-MAKING DEVICE FOR REFRIGERATOR
An ice-making device for a refrigerator. The ice-making device includes an ice tray, an ice-storing unit, and a slide. The slide is configured to guide ice pieces discharged from the ice tray toward the ice-storing unit.
The ice-storing unit includes an ice storage part configured to accommodate the ice pieces released from the ice-making unit and a drive device configured to drive a delivery member for discharging the ice pieces from the ice storage part. The ice tray extends to a location above the drive device.
REFRIGERATOR
A refrigerator including an ice maker and cutters for crushing ice produced from the ice maker. The cutters include fixed cutters and rotational cutters. Through holes are formed on the cutters to facilitate cold air flow to pass through the cutters and into the ice crushing space. The rotational cutters can rotate in one direction to crush the ice, and can rotate in another direction to leave the ice uncrushed.
The ice bin further includes a separation bar unit rotatably installed parallel to the breaking unit to strike and separate the ice piece agglomerates during rotation.
Driving device for automatic ice-making machine
Provided is a driving device for an automatic ice-making machine, the driving device including: a cam gear that rotates a tray; and an operating lever that organically operates along a cam plane for an ice-cube quantity detecting arm formed at the cam gear and allows the ice-cube quantity detecting arm to rotate downward into an ice-cube storage bin, wherein a cam groove for the ice-cube quantity detecting arm is formed in the cam plane for the ice-cube quantity detecting arm of the cam gear and allows the operating level to descend so that the ice-cube quantity detecting arm rotates downward into the ice-cube storage bin, and a protrusion is formed between the cam plane for the ice-cube quantity detecting arm and the cam groove for the ice-cube quantity detecting arm and allows the operating lever to ascend so that the ice-cube quantity detecting arm that rotates downward into the ice-cube storage bin rotates upward.
Filters for Non-Plumbed Appliances
Non-plumbed appliances and filters are provided. A filter includes a body which includes a sidewall extending along a longitudinal axis between a first end wall and a second end wall, the body defining a body interior. The filter further includes an inlet defined in the body, and a nozzle protruding from the second end wall along the longitudinal axis and defining an outlet, the nozzle offset along an outer surface of the second end wall from a centroid of the outer surface. The filter further includes a tab configured on the body, and a filter medium disposed within the body interior, the filter medium operable to remove contaminants from water flowing through the filter medium.
