Refrigerator appliances
Refrigerator appliances are provided. A refrigerator appliance includes a cabinet defining a fresh food chamber and a freezer chamber, and a door for accessing one of the fresh food chamber or the freezer chamber. The refrigerator appliance further includes an ice making assembly disposed within one of the fresh food chamber, the freezer chamber or the door. The ice making assembly includes an ice maker, a container defining a storage volume for receipt of ice produced by the ice maker, and a chute extending between the ice maker and the container for directing the ice produced by the ice maker towards the storage volume. The chute includes a body defining a passage therethrough. The ice making assembly further includes a sensor positioned to transmit sensing signals through the chute, the sensor in communication with the ice maker.
Vertical ice maker producing clear ice pieces
An ice making assembly and method utilizes a housing having an upper fluid chamber, a plurality of distinct, substantially vertical fluid channels, and at least one drain aperture in fluid communication with a fluid reservoir. Ice forming members extend from an ice forming evaporator into respective fluid channels. During an ice making event, fluid continuously supplied to the upper fluid chamber flows into each of the fluid channels and out through at least one drain aperture into a fluid reservoir below. The ice forming members are cooled such that fluid flowing across the fluid channels freezes on the ice forming members over time, forming clear ice pieces. The ice pieces are subsequently released from the ice forming members and transferred for storage and/or dispensing.
ICE TRAY ASSEMBLY
A tray assembly for a device for freezing a liquid, the assembly includes a frame defining an aperture. A thermally conductive tray is sized to be received within the aperture, the thermally conductive tray having a body and a lip circumferentially disposed about the body, the thermally conductive tray being seated within the aperture and defining a first surface and an opposite second surface, the first surface defining a recess and the second surface defining a plurality of receptacles. A gasket is included and sized to surround the body and to be disposed between the lip and the frame. An insulation chamber is coupled to the frame.
Ice Dispenser with Reduced Ice Bridging Therein
The present application provides an ice dispenser for dispensing a volume of ice. The ice dispenser may include an ice bin and an ice deflector positioned about a top of the ice bin. The ice deflector may include a reverse funnel configuration such that an entrance to the ice deflector is narrower that an exit to the ice deflector so as to prevent the volume of ice from bridging therein in whole or in part.
REFRIGERATOR
Disclosed herein is a refrigerator having an ice bucket with a simple structure. The refrigerator may include a main body and an ice bucket provided to supply ice, wherein the ice bucket includes an ice bank provided with an ice storage space therein and an opening, an auger rotatably disposed in the ice bank to rotate about a rotating shaft to transfer ice, and a guide lever rotatably installed in the ice bank to open or close the opening and configured to open the opening by being pushed by ice being transferred in a direction of the rotating shaft.
Evaporator assembly for a vertical flow type ice making machine
The present disclosure discloses, an evaporator assembly for a vertical flow type ice-making machine. The assembly comprising a plurality of tubes for circulating a refrigerant, and a plurality of conductive protrusions thermally coupled to and extending the plurality of tubes. Each of the plurality of conductive protrusions defines an ice-making region. The assembly also includes a non-conductive plate arranged adjacent to the plurality of tubes. The non-conductive plate is defined with a provision to accommodate the plurality of conductive protrusions which exchanges heat with the refrigerant flowing through the plurality of tubes and forms the ice layer by layer, and shape of at least one surface of the ice is defined by the non-conductive plate. The configuration of the assembly produces ice in the form of individual ice-cubes of a specific shape and size, and thereby improves the efficiency of the machine and ice-making process.
ICE DISPENSING SYSTEM
The invention relates to an ice dispensing system comprising an ice hopper, an ice chute for transporting ice from the ice hopper to a dispensing outlet or a waste outlet, an ice dispensing element for dispensing ice from the hopper into the ice chute, an ice directing element having a first position for directing ice to the waste outlet and a second position for directing ice to the dispensing outlet, and a controller for controlling the ice dispensing element and the position of the ice directing element. Also provided is a beverage dispensing machine comprising the ice dispensing system of the invention and a method for dispensing ice from the ice dispensing system or beverage dispensing machine of the invention.
Ice making assembly and refrigerator appliance
A refrigerator appliance or ice supply, as provided herein, may include an ice maker, an ice bucket, and a shutter. The ice maker may include a mold body defining a discrete first compartment and second compartment within which water freezes. The ice bucket may define a first chamber and a second chamber. The second chamber may be separated from the first chamber. The ice bucket may further define an outlet opening having a first portion in fluid communication with the first chamber and a second portion in fluid communication with the second chamber. The shutter may be disposed at the outlet opening and movable between a first position and a second position. The first position may include the shutter covering the second portion and spaced apart from the first portion. The second position may include the shutter covering the first portion and spaced apart from the second portion.
Household refrigeration apparatus with an elongated ice chute
A household refrigeration apparatus has a door with a rear side and an overhang. The overhang is arranged on the rear side and is formed with a top side wall. A water and ice dispenser is arranged in the door. The water and ice dispenser includes an elongated, or lengthened, ice chute. The ice chute is arranged in the overhang at least with an ice chute section. The ice chute is passed through the top side wall and the ice chute includes an entrance, which overhangs upwards beyond the top side wall in height direction of the household refrigeration apparatus and which is arranged above the top side wall at a distance to the top side wall.
REFRIGERATOR
A refrigerator including an ice maker; an ice bucket positionable under the ice maker and including a first position guide; and a pad mountable to the ice bucket and including a base, an inclined member, and a second position guide. The pad and the bucket are configured so that, (a) when the pad is being mounted to the ice bucket, the second position guide couples with the first position guide to guide positioning of the pad in the ice bucket so that, when the pad is mounted to the ice bucket, the base is in a front portion of the ice bucket and the inclined member is in a rear portion of the ice bucket and is inclined to the base, and (b) when the pad is mounted to the ice bucket and the ice bucket is positioned under the ice maker, ice produced by the ice maker falls into the ice bucket and is transferred by the inclined member to the base.
