11092372 · 2021-08-17 ·

An on-demand and efficient ice delivery unit is described. In an aspect, the unit is comprises a cabinet that further comprises an ice storage bin and an icemaker. The ice delivery unit provides a user with compressed chewable nuggets of ice. In an aspect, the unit comprises an icemaker that is ideally located below the ice storage bin. The location of the icemaker, which may also be remote, is designed to enable the ice storage bin to be of a larger capacity than ice delivery units currently known in the art. Additionally, the location of the icemaker reduces the overall size, particularly the height, of the unit in comparison to other ice distribution units known in the art.

The rotatable blade may be housed within the rotatable drum between the first arc point and the second arc point. The rotatable drum may be movable between a crusher position and an agitator position. The crusher position may include the rotatable blade in engagement with the rotatable drum at the first arc point while being circumferentially spaced apart from the second arc point. The agitator position may include the rotatable blade in engagement with the rotatable drum at the second arc point while being circumferentially spaced apart from the first arc point.

REFRIGERATOR APPLIANCE ICE STORAGE BIN WITH A KICK PLATE

A refrigerator appliance includes a cabinet, a door, and an ice bin. The ice bin may be removably received within a chilled chamber and include a bin body and a non-vertical auger. The bin body may define a storage volume to receive ice therein and a dispenser opening in fluid communication with the storage volume. The non-vertical auger may include a rotation shaft extending along a rotation axis and a cam disposed on the rotation shaft. The ice bin may include a kick plate within the storage volume. The cam on the non-vertical auger may actuate the kick plate.

REFRIGERATOR WITH ICEMAKER, AND WATER INJECTION CONTROL METHOD

The present disclosure provides a refrigerator with an ice maker, an ice maker ice-overturning control method, and an ice maker water injection control method. The refrigerator in the present disclosure can: perceive whether the ice cube tray is already taken out to avoid continued water injection after the ice cube tray is taken out; and perceive a temperature of ice in the ice cube tray to accurately determine a current situation of ice making so as to perform accurate control for the ice maker, thereby avoiding ice cube lumping due to unsuccessful overturning in the refrigerator, and greatly improving the ice making efficiency. Further, the refrigerator can accurately determine whether the ice tray is mounted to be in place, so as to complete a series of water injection and ice making operation accurately.

HYBRID ICE MAKER

An ice making device provides an ice tray and a frame to hold the ice tray. The frame has a proximal end with a motor and a distal end with a circular opening. An insert positioned in the circular opening with a projection provides a vibrating motion to dislodge ice cubes from the ice tray. An ice tray includes an integrated heating circuit for sensing capacitance and releasing frozen ice cubes. An ice tray also includes a raised flange to prevent water from splashing out of the ice tray.

Ice making system

an ice making system includes a tank that stores a medium to be cooled, an ice making machine that cools the medium and makes ice, a pump that circulates the medium between the tank and the ice making machine, a de-icing mechanism that heats the medium and melts the ice in the ice making machine, and a control device that controls operations of the ice making machine, the pump, and the de-icing mechanism. The ice making machine includes a cooling chamber that cools the medium, an inflow port through which the medium flows into the cooling chamber, and a discharge port through which the medium is discharged from the cooling chamber. The control device activates the de-icing mechanism when a pressure difference between a pressure of the medium at the inflow port and a pressure of the medium at the discharge port exceeds a predetermined value.

Clear ice maker assembly for production and storage of clear ice within a home refrigerator appliance

A clear ice maker assembly for use in a home refrigerator appliance, the clear ice maker assembly including: an evaporator plate that is cooled via contact with a refrigerant tube; at least one thermally non-conductive ice mold part disposed below the evaporator plate and having one or more walls that together with a surface of the evaporator plate form an ice mold cavity; a spray bar having at least one opening for introducing water vertically into the ice mold cavity such that a clear ice piece forms on the surface of the evaporator plate inside the ice mold cavity of the at least one thermally non-conductive ice mold part; a water reservoir system configured to supply water to the spray bar; and an ejection system configured to eject the clear ice piece formed inside the ice mold cavity of the at least one thermally non-conductive ice mold part.

IN DOOR ICE BIN FOR AN AUTOMATIC ICE MAKER

An ice maker assembly includes an ice maker that has a mounting plate that includes an engagement feature with an engagement surface. An ice storage bin is configured for insertion into an ice maker receiving space of the ice maker. The ice storage bin includes a retention surface configured to engage with the mounting plate when the ice storage bin is inserted into the ice maker receiving space and an ice bin base that defines a track system configured to move the ice storage bin both vertically and horizontally. The track system includes an elongate portion configured to move the ice storage bin horizontally and a widened portion configured to facilitate vertical movement of the ice storage bin.
