An ice maker of a refrigerator includes a tray assembly having an upper tray that defines upper portions of a plurality of ice making chambers. Each of the plurality of ice making chambers is configured to receive water and generate an ice piece. The tray assembly also includes a lower tray that is located vertically below the upper tray, that is configured to rotate relative to the upper tray, and that defines lower portions of the plurality of ice making chambers, wherein at least one of the upper tray or the lower tray comprises a flexible tray made of a flexible material. Additionally, a case is configured to accommodate the flexible tray to restrict a deformation of the flexible tray. A heater that is located between the case and the flexible tray is configured to supply heat to the plurality of ice making chambers through the flexible tray.

Evaporator for ice maker

An evaporator for an ice maker includes an evaporator body having a refrigerant flow path formed therein; a dipping member connected to the evaporator body, for a refrigerant having a temperature lower than a freezing point of water to flow in the refrigerant flow path to generate ice in a state in which at least a portion of the dipping member is submerged in water; a heater having at least a portion inserted into the refrigerant flow path, and directly or indirectly heating at least one of the refrigerant in the refrigerant flow path, the evaporator body, and the dipping member to separate the ice generated on the dipping member from the dipping member; and a connection member connecting the evaporator body and the refrigerant flow path to be connected to a refrigeration cycle, and inserting the at least a portion of the heater into the refrigerant flow path.

ICE MACHINE WITH A DUAL-CIRCUIT EVAPORATOR FOR HYDROCARBON REFRIGERANT
20220349641 · 2022-11-03 ·

An ice making machine having a refrigeration system designed for hydrocarbon (HC) refrigerants, and particularly propane (R-290), that includes dual independent refrigeration systems and a unique evaporator assembly comprising of a single freeze plate attached to two cooling circuits. The serpentines are designed in an advantageous pattern that promotes efficiency by ensuring the even bridging of ice during freezing and minimizing unwanted melting during harvest by providing an even distribution of the heat load. The charge limitations imposed with flammable refrigerants would otherwise prevent large capacity ice maker from being properly charged with a single circuit. The ice making machine includes a single water circuit and control system to ensure the proper and efficient production of ice. Material cost is conserved as compared to a traditional dual system icemaker.

An ice making device in a refrigerator including light sensors to detect an ice level in the ice bucket. An ice level sensing unit is positioned lower than an upper edge of the ice bucket and thus can detect ice level even when the ice bucket is not completely full. The ice level sensing unit includes one or more pairs of light emitting sensor and light receiving sensor. When ice in the ice bucket accumulates to a detectable level, the amount of light emitted from the light emitting sensor and received by the light receiving sensor can be blocked accordingly.

Rapid freezing of ice cubes comprising method, device, product and uses

The invention relates to a method for rapid freezing of ice cubes by means of a higher dispensing rate and contact freezing, the cube being produced in 7 minutes with a water consumption equivalent to the volume of the cubes, thereby not wasting a single drop of water. A conventional condenser and compressor store cold in a store where the cold produced is maintained at a constant temperature of −30° C., and a gel that absorbs the cold from the medium is pumped as far as the ice-tray, where it runs into the spaces separating the cells where the cubes are formed in order then to return via a downward conduit to the cold store, continuing the cycle, and a series of dispensing devices meter out the water necessary into the cells where a contact-freezing process is initiated.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING OPERATION OF ICE-MAKING MACHINE

A method for controlling an operation of an ice-making machine configured to make ice by cooling a medium to be cooled, through heat exchange with a refrigerant. The method includes increasing an evaporation temperature of the refrigerant to be supplied to the ice-making machine when a drive current for an ice scraper of the ice-making machine is more than a first current value.
