Refrigerator appliance with timed preheating for dispensed fluids
A refrigerator appliance, as provided herein, may include a cabinet, a door, a dispensing assembly, a heating element, and a controller. The controller may be configured to initiate a dispensing operation. The dispensing operation may include providing a first time, TIME-1, by which a fluid is to be ready at a first temperature, TEMP-1, within the cabinet; ascertaining a first time period, Δt1, required to heat the fluid to at least the first temperature, TEMP-1; initiating detection of a container within a dispenser recess prior to the first time, TIME-1; and directing a heating element prior to the first time, TIME-1, based on initiating detection of the container.
Portable Refrigerator Assembly
A portable refrigerator assembly includes a refrigerator that has a box and a door that is hingedly coupled to the box. A plurality of feet is each coupled to and extends laterally away from the refrigerator for stabilizing the refrigerator on a support surface. A cooling unit is provided and the cooling unit is positioned in the refrigerator such that the cooling unit is in thermal communication with an interior of the refrigerator. In this way the cooling unit can cool the interior of the refrigerator. A pair of warming plates is each coupled to the refrigerator and a food item can be positioned on each of the warming plates. Additionally, each of the warming plates generates heat when the warming plates are turned on to warm the food item.
SINGLE AIR PASSAGEWAY AND DAMPER ASSEMBLY IN A VARIABLE CLIMATE ZONE COMPARTMENT
A refrigeration appliance including a partition that defines a through passage between an upper compartment and a lower compartment. A temperature control system is positioned in the upper compartment and includes an air passage. A lower inlet opening extends through a front surface of the vertical partition to the air passage. A damper assembly includes a door that is moveable between a first position and a second position. When the door is in the first position the door fluidly isolates the through passage in the partition from the upper compartment while allowing the lower inlet opening in the vertical partition to fluidly communicate with the air passage in the vertical partition. When the door is in the second position the door fluidly isolates the lower inlet opening from the air passage while allowing the through passage to fluidly communicate with the upper compartment.
Refrigerator and dehumidification control method thereof
A refrigerator and a dehumidification control method thereof to effectively perform both temperature compensation and dehumidification so as to prevent formation of dewdrops in a refrigerating compartment of the refrigerator. The control method includes detecting a temperature of outside air around the refrigerator to judge whether or not the detected temperature corresponds to a low-temperature mode requiring dehumidification, heating a refrigerating compartment by operating a refrigerating compartment heater and a refrigerating compartment fan for dehumidification if the low-temperature mode is judged, cooling the refrigerating compartment by operating a compressor while continuously operating the refrigerating compartment fan, and simultaneously cooling and heating the refrigerating compartment to enable simultaneous implementation of temperature compensation by heating of the refrigerating compartment and dehumidification by cooling of the refrigerating compartment.
Refrigerator
A refrigerator includes a cabinet configured to be formed with a first storage chamber and a second storage chamber, a first door configured to open and close the first storage chamber, a second door configured to open and close the second storage chamber, a first cooler and a heater configured to adjust the temperature of the first storage chamber, a second cooler configured to adjust a temperature of the second storage chamber, and a controller configured to perform a general operation of the first storage chamber in preference to door load response operation of the second storage chamber, of the general operation of adjusting the temperature of the first storage chamber and the door load response operation of the second storage chamber.
Moisture detector, moisture detection method, electronic device, and log output system
A moisture detector includes a sensor chip and a moisture determining unit. The sensor chip includes a humidity detector having a detection surface on which to measure humidity, and also includes a heater heating the detection surface, and the moisture determining unit is configured to, after causing the heater to start heating, determine whether moisture is present on the detection surface based on a difference in changes in the humidity measured by the humidity detector.
REFRIGERATOR
The refrigerator of the present invention comprises: a storage chamber for storing food; a first ice-maker comprising a tray assembly which forms an ice-making cell in which space water undergoes a phase change into ice due to the cold; a second ice-maker arranged in an ice-making chamber which is partitioned from the storage chamber; a cooler for supplying the cold to the storage chamber and the ice-making chamber; an ice bin for storing ice generated by the second ice-maker; a water supply unit for supplying water to the ice-making cell; a heater for supplying heat to the ice-making cell; and a controller for controlling the heater. The controller turns on the heater in at least some period while the cooler is supplying the cold, so that bubbles dissolved in the water in the ice-making cell move toward the water in a liquid state from a portion where the ice is generated and transparent ice can be generated. In addition, in order for the speed of the ice-making using the water in the ice-making cell to be maintained within a predetermined range less than the speed of the ice-making when the ice-making is performed as the heater is turned off, the controller increases the heating amount of the heater when the heat transfer amount between the cold in the storage chamber and the water in the ice-making cell is increased, and decreases the heating amount of the heater when the heat transfer amount between the cold in the storage chamber and the water in the ice-making cell is reduced.
REFRIGERATOR AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SAME
A refrigerator according to the present invention comprises: a storage chamber in which food is stored; a cold air supply means for supplying cold air to the storage chamber; a tray forming an ice-making cell as a space in which water undergoes a phase change to ice by means of the cold air; a heater for supplying heat to the tray; and a controller for controlling the heater. The controller starts ice-making after water supplied to the ice-making cell by a first amount of water supply is completed. The controller turns on the heater in at least a part of a range in which the cold air supply means supplies cold air such that air bubbles dissolved in water inside the ice-making cell can move from ice-generating parts to liquid-state water, thereby generating transparent ice. The controller determines whether or not the heater is functioning abnormally in the ice-making process. If it is determined that the heater is functioning abnormally, the controller supplies water to the ice-making cell by a second amount of water supply, which is smaller than the first amount of water supply, during the next water supply process.
REFRIGERATOR
A refrigerator of the present invention may comprise: a first tray assembly forming a part of an ice making cell; and a second tray assembly forming the other part of the ice making cell. The first tray assembly includes a first tray, and the second tray assembly includes a second tray. The second tray includes a first portion forming at least a portion of the ice making cell, and a second portion extending from a predetermined point of the first portion. The second portion includes a first extension part extending from a first point of the first portion and a second extension part extending from a second point of the first portion, wherein the length of the second extension part in the horizontal direction is formed longer than the length of the first extension part.
REFRIGERATOR
A refrigerator according to the present invention may comprise a first tray assembly forming one part of ice-making cells, and a second tray assembly forming the other part of same. Any one tray assembly, from among the first and second tray assemblies, comprises a first part forming at least a part of the ice-making cells, and a second part extending from a set point on the first part so as to reduce water supplied to the ice-making cells from leaking through a space between the first and second tray assemblies.
