A vacuum insulated cabinet structure includes an exterior wrapper with a front edge extending around an opening thereof. At least one liner includes a front edge extending around an opening of the liner, wherein the liner is disposed inside of the wrapper with the front edge of the wrapper disposed around the front edge of the liner in assembly. A thermal bridge includes an outer coupling portion and an inner coupling portion. In assembly, the outer coupling portion is overmolded to a portion of the front edge of the wrapper, and the inner coupling portion is overmolded to a portion of the front edge of the liner to form a sealed vacuum cavity between the wrapper and the liner. The thermal bridge is formed in a mold in which the preformed wrapper and liner are partially disposed to form a unitary composite structure.

The rigid perimeter wall includes a front portion that defines at least one hinge support adapted to support an appliance door. The rigid perimeter wall defines an insulating cavity that is filled with an insulating material. The first vacuum insulated structure engages a first edge of the perimeter wall and the second vacuum insulated structure engages a second edge of the perimeter wall.

ADJUSTABLE REFRIGERATOR COMPARTMENT AND DOOR ASSEMBLY

A refrigerator includes a cabinet with an adjustable wall partitioning the cabinet between first and second storage compartments. An adjustment mechanism is coupled to the adjustable wall and includes a mounting portion that is slideably coupled to an underside of the adjustable wall between fore and aft positions. A retaining mechanism is operably coupled to the mounting portion and includes a plurality of engagement features that engage like engagement features disposed on the underside of the adjustable wall. The retaining mechanism is moved to the disengaged position to allow movement of the adjustment mechanism between the fore and aft positions. The adjustment mechanism further includes support guides downwardly extending from opposite sides of the mounting portion. The support guides are slideably received in inclined channels disposed on opposite sidewalls of the cabinet between raised and lowered positions as the adjustment mechanism moves between the fore and aft positions.
