Aircraft service trolley and galley enclosure therefor

A retaining assembly secures an equipment item within an aircraft galley compartment. The retaining assembly may include a turn button assembly including a turn button connected to a front edge of the galley compartment to secure the equipment item within the galley compartment. The turn button rotates between a first position for allowing insertion or release of the equipment item from the galley compartment and a second position for securing the equipment item within the galley compartment. A turn button recess on an inner surface of a panel door that is coupled to an edge of an opening for the galley compartment receives the turn button of the turn button assembly when the turn button is in the second position to allow the panel door to fully close over the opening for the galley compartment.

Transport container

The present invention relates to a transport container which provides mechanical and thermal stability for a load and which container is fabricated as the container is loaded. In particular, the present invention relates to a container which can be readily transported on aircraft, such as an aircraft container. In the field of logistics, that is the field of movement and supply of produce and materials, in particular in the transport of intermediate and finished products, containers have been developed which safely protect from physical damage a wide variety of product. Food and pharmaceutical products not only need protection from physical shock and pressures but also require temperature stability during transportation; otherwise goods can be damaged and be unusable, whether such damage is apparent or not. However, air transport poses a particular problem: Goods can be transported in tropical heat, packaged and placed upon pallets and the like containers whereby they are presented in aircraft style containers. Such goods may be left on runways at extreme temperatures (+40° C.) and then placed within a hold where low pressures and low temperatures exist during flight. At a destination airport the temperatures may well be sub-zero. To simplify transport with respect to airports, planes and handling equipment, there have been developed aircraft Unit Load Devices (ULDs) which comprise any type of pallet or container that can easily be loaded to the aircraft by a ground handler. The present invention seeks to provide a transport container which can maintain goods within a narrow temperature range, can displace a considerably reduced volume before erection, is economical to manufacture, can readily and easily be constructed. The present invention further seeks to provide a transport container which is compatible with standard Unit Load Device specifications.

Vacuum adiabatic body and refrigerator

A vacuum adiabatic body according to the present invention includes at least one reinforcing frame which is installed along a corner of at least one of a first plate member and a second plate member constituting an inner wall and an outer wall of the vacuum adiabatic body and is provided as one body for reinforcing the strength, thereby being capable of reinforcing the strength of the vacuum adiabatic body which is applied to the three-dimensional structure.

Door alignment mechanism

A refrigerator door assembly includes a refrigerator door having a recess. An alignment mechanism includes a plate and a door hinge. The plate is fixedly attached to the door hinge and positioned at least partially within the recess of the refrigerator door. The refrigerator door is movably positionable between at least a first position and a second position relative to the plate to permit adjustment of a location of the refrigerator door relative to the door hinge.

Portable, modular refrigeration device

The portable, modular refrigeration device includes a base member that supports a refrigeration cycle therein. The base member may be hemispherical in shape, and include a top peripheral edge that enables a pivoting, dome cover to attach thereon. The pivoting, dome cover is also hemispherical in shape, and is made of a translucent material so as to enable view of contents being stored there under. A removable tray is provided, and is seated on a lip provided in the base member. The lip is located below the peripheral edge. The removable tray features a plurality of slots that enable refrigerated air to be directed upwardly from the base member into the pivoting, dome cover.

Method and apparatus for instant ice making

A portable apparatus for rapidly freezing a freezable liquid to form at least one frozen object includes a fluid intake in which the freezable liquid is introduced and a freeze chamber that receives the freezable liquid from the fluid intake. The freeze chamber includes a freeze block that includes at least one cell in which the at least one frozen object is formed. A cooling system circulates refrigerant to the freeze block to facilitate cooling of the freeze block. The freeze block is formed of a heat transfer material such that heat from the freezable liquid added to the at least one cell is transferred to the freeze block whereupon said heat is transferred to the refrigerant flowing through the evaporator coil of the freeze block, thereby resulting in cooling of the freeze block. The freeze block is configured and the refrigerant is selected such that the freeze chamber is maintained at a temperature of below 0° F. and preferably below at least about −10.0° F. or −20° F.

Method of making a vacuum insulated cabinet for a refrigerator

A method of making an insulated cabinet for a refrigerator comprises: welding sheet metal to form an external wrapper, the external wrapper including an interior and welded areas with an outboard-facing side; welding sheet metal to form a first liner configured to be disposed within the interior of the external wrapper, the first liner including welded areas with an inboard-facing side; applying an adhesive to the outboard-facing side of the welded areas of the external wrapper; applying an adhesive to the inboard-facing side of the welded areas of the first liner; and disposing the first liner within the interior of the external wrapper, leaving a space between the first liner and the external wrapper.
