Methods and systems for separating compounds
Methods and systems for separating a desublimatable compound from hydrocarbons is disclosed. A feed fluid stream, consisting of a hydrocarbon and a desublimatable compound, is passed into an upper chamber of a vessel. The feed fluid stream is cooled in the upper chamber, thereby desublimating a portion of the desublimatable compound out of the feed liquid stream to form a product gas stream and a desublimatable compound snow which is collected in the lower chamber of the vessel. A lower portion of the desublimatable compound snow is melted to form a liquid desublimatable compound stream such that an upper portion of the solid desublimatable compound snow remains as an insulative barrier between the upper chamber and the liquid desublimatable compound stream. The liquid desublimatable compound stream is removed at a rate that matches a production rate of the solid desublimatable compound snow, thereby maintaining the insulative barrier.
PURIFICATION OF CARBON MONOXIDE BY CRYOGENIC DISTILLATION
In a process for the separation of a flow containing at least 97% mol of carbon monoxide containing at least one lighter compound and at least one heavier compound, the flow is separated in a column and a column, one of the columns being a denitrogenation column and the other a column for purification in argon, in order to form a flow very rich in carbon monoxide.
Pretreatment of natural gas prior to liquefaction
Method and system for removing high freeze point components from natural gas. Feed gas is cooled in a heat exchanger and separated into a first vapor portion and a first liquid portion. The first liquid portion is reheated using the heat exchanger and separated into a high freeze point components stream and a non-freezing components stream. A portion of the non-freezing components stream may be at least partially liquefied and received by an absorber tower. The first vapor portion may be cooled and received by the absorber tower. An overhead vapor product which is substantially free of high freeze point freeze components and a bottoms product liquid stream including freeze components and non-freeze components are produced using the absorber tower.

Method and plant for the purification of carbon dioxide using liquid carbon dioxide
The present invention relates to an improved method for removing contaminants from a gaseous stream substantially comprising carbon dioxide. More specifically, the method comprises the step of subjecting the gaseous stream to an absorption step in which the absorbent is liquid carbon dioxide wherein the waste of carbon dioxide is minimized by utilizing a compressing means for generating a pressure difference between two streams in a reboiler.

KRYPTON RECOVERY AND PURIFICATION FROM CUSTOMER PROCESSING
Embodiments of a krypton recovery method and apparatus are provided. The method and apparatus involves removing contaminants from a krypton containing waste gas to yield a krypton containing effluent gas; compressing and cooling the krypton containing effluent gas to yield a nearly saturated vapor krypton containing effluent. The krypton containing vapor effluent.is partially condensed in a reboiler and the resulting stream is rectified in a crude distillation column to yield the crude krypton. The crude krypton to further refined is a separate cryogenic distillation system and process to produce a refined krypton product.
