The turbomachinery associated with the liquefaction system are driven by a single three-pinion, three-turbine integral gear machine with customized pairing arrangements. The system and method of natural gas liquefaction further includes the conditioning of a lower pressure natural gas containing feed stream to produce a purified, compressed natural gas stream at a pressure equal to or above the critical pressure of natural gas and substantially free of heavy hydrocarbons to be liquefied.
Process for extracting gasoline from a gas containing condensable hydrocarbons
The present invention relates to the extraction of gasoline from a gas G, with (a) a step of extracting gasoline from the gas to be treated comprising methanol GM obtained from step (d), (b) a step of separating said fluid GL1 partially condensed in step (a), producing a first aqueous liquid phase A1, a first liquid phase H1 of hydrocarbon(s) a gaseous phase G1 obtained from the gas G; (c) a step of contacting a portion of the gas G to be treated with said first aqueous liquid phase A1, producing a second aqueous liquid phase A2, a gaseous phase of gas to be treated comprising methanol GM′; (d) a step of mixing said gaseous phase of gas to be treated comprising methanol GM′ with the remainder of the gas G to be treated, producing a gas to be treated comprising methanol GM, (e) a step of stabilizing said first liquid phase H1 of hydrocarbon(s).
Reducing Refrigeration and Dehydration Load for a Feed Stream Entering a Cryogenic Distillation Process
A system for conditioning a sour gas feed stream for a cryogenic distillation tower, comprising a dehydration unit configured to separate the sour gas feed stream into a first stream comprising water and a feed stream, and a sequential cooling assembly coupled to both the dehydration unit and the cryogenic distillation tower, wherein the sequential cooling assembly comprises a first stage configured to separate the feed stream into a partially cooled feed stream and a second stream comprising acid gas, a second stage configured to cool the partially cooled feed stream into a cooled feed stream and a third stream comprising acid gas, and a cooled feed stream header coupled to a cryogenic distillation tower feed inlet, wherein the first stage, the second stage, or both are configured to send at least one of the second and third streams to a bottom section of the cryogenic distillation tower.
Method and installation for cryogenic separation of a gaseous mixture by methane scrubbing
In a process for the combined production of a) a hydrogen-enriched gas and a carbon monoxide-enriched gas and/or b) a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide by cryogenic distillation and scrubbing, a still liquor is extracted from a scrubbing column and sent to a stripping column, a still liquor is extracted from the stripping column and sent to a separating column for carbon monoxide and methane and a cooling fluid is used at a pressure greater than that of the head of the separating column for cooling at least one fluid extracted at an intermediate level from the scrubbing column.
PRETREATMENT OF NATURAL GAS PRIOR TO LIQUEFACTION
Method and system for removing high freeze point components from natural gas. Feed gas is cooled in a heat exchanger and separated into a first vapor portion and a first liquid portion. The first liquid portion is reheated using the heat exchanger and separated into a high freeze point components stream and a non-freezing components stream. A portion of the non-freezing components stream may be at least partially liquefied and received by an absorber tower. The first vapor portion may be cooled and received by the absorber tower. An overhead vapor product which is substantially free of high freeze point freeze components and a bottoms product liquid stream including freeze components and non-freeze components are produced using the absorber tower.
Process and plant for production of pure carbon monoxide and hydrogen
Proposed is a process and a plant for production of pure carbon monoxide and hydrogen by steam reforming of hydrocarbons, preferably methane or naphtha, to afford a raw synthesis gas and subsequent, multistage workup, purification and fractionation of the raw synthesis gas to afford the target products, wherein the material streams obtained as by-products of the process chain are also to be advantageously utilized. This is achieved according to the invention by providing the recirculating compressor provided for recycling of the by-product material streams with a plurality of parallel, independently operable compressor stages.
Systems and methods for recovering helium from feed streams containing carbon dioxide
Systems and methods are provided for recovering helium from a feed comprising helium, carbon dioxide, and at least one intermediate component having a volatility between those of helium and carbon dioxide. In particular, processes of the present invention comprise separating the carbon dioxide and the components of intermediate volatility from the helium at a temperature greater than −82.7° C. to form a helium-rich product stream, wherein the concentration of at least one of the intermediate components in the helium-rich product stream is lower than its concentration in the feed stream, and wherein at least part of the separation is effected by contacting a vapor with a liquid.
Systems And Methods For Enhanced Recovery Of NGL Hydrocarbons
Systems and methods for the enhanced recovery of ethane and heavier hydrocarbons using an absorbing agent. Typical absorbing agents include one or more C3+ alkanes. The systems and methods separate components of a feed gas containing methane and heavier hydrocarbons, which maximizes ethane recovery, without requiring appreciable increases in capital and operating costs, and improves the safety margin with respect to the risk of CO.sub.2 freeze-out.
METHOD AND PLANT FOR THE PURIFICATION OF CARBON DIOXIDE USING LIQUID CARBON DIOXIDE
The present invention relates to an improved method for removing contaminants from a gaseous stream substantially comprising carbon dioxide. More specifically, the method comprises the step of subjecting the gaseous stream to an absorption step in which the absorbent is liquid carbon dioxide wherein the waste of carbon dioxide is minimized by utilizing a compressing means for generating a pressure difference between two streams in a reboiler.
