Process integration for natural gas liquid recovery
This specification relates to operating industrial facilities, for example, crude oil refining facilities or other industrial facilities that include operating plants that process natural gas or recover natural gas liquids.
Method and apparatus for producing hydrocarbons
A method for producing hydrocarbons is proposed, in which a product stream containing hydrocarbons is produced from a methane-rich feed stream and from an oxygen-rich feed stream in a reaction unit which is configured for implementing a method for oxidative coupling of methane, the product stream or at least a stream formed therefrom being treated cryogenically in at least one separation unit using at least one liquid, methane-rich stream. It is provided that in the at least one separation unit (10) a recycle stream is formed from methane contained in product stream (c) and from methane contained in the at least one liquid, methane-rich stream (e, v), the recycle stream being fed to the reaction unit (1) as the methane-rich feed stream (a), and in that the liquid, methane-rich stream (e, v) is provided as makeup.
PHASE IMPLEMENTATION OF NATURAL GAS LIQUID RECOVERY PLANTS
Embodiments relate generally to systems and methods for operating a natural gas liquids plant in ethane rejection and in ethane recovery. A natural gas liquid plant may comprise an absorber configured to produce an ethane rich bottom stream and an ethane depleted vapor stream; a stripper fluidly coupled to the absorber configured to, during ethane rejection, fractionate the ethane rich bottom stream from the absorber into an ethane overhead product and a propane plus hydrocarbons product, and configured to, during ethane recovery, fractionate the ethane rich bottom stream into an ethane plus NGL stream and an overhead vapor stream; and an exchanger configured to, during ethane recovery, counter-currently contact the ethane rich bottom stream from the absorber with the ethane depleted vapor stream from the absorber, thereby heating the vapor stream and chilling the ethane rich bottom stream before the ethane rich bottom stream is fed to the stripper.
Systems and methods for LNG production with propane and ethane recovery
A LNG liquefaction plant includes a propane recovery unit including an inlet for a feed gas, a first outlet for a LPG, and a second outlet for an ethane-rich feed gas, an ethane recovery unit including an inlet coupled to the second outlet for the ethane-rich feed gas, a first outlet for an ethane liquid, and a second outlet for a methane-rich feed gas, and a LNG liquefaction unit including an inlet coupled to the second outlet for the methane-rich feed gas, a refrigerant to cool the methane-rich feed gas, and an outlet for a LNG. The LNG plant may also include a stripper, an absorber, and a separator configured to separate the feed gas into a stripper liquid and an absorber vapor. The stripper liquid can be converted to an overhead stream used as a reflux stream to the absorber.
POLYMERIZABLE LIQUID CRYSTAL MATERIAL AND POLYMERIZED LIQUID CRYSTAL FILM
A polymerizable LC material comprising one or more reactive mesogenic compounds, one or more chiral compounds and a block copolymer that comprises at least one polyfluorooxetane block bonded to a polyether block, said polyfluorooxetane block having a repeating unit of the formula
##STR00001##
Further, a method for its preparation, a polymer film obtainable from a corresponding polymerizable LC material, a method of preparation of such polymer film, and the use of such polymer film and said polymerizable LC material in optical, electro-optical, decorative or security devices.
REMOVING HEAVY HYDROCARBONS TO PREVENT DEFROST SHUTDOWNS IN LNG PLANTS
Embodiments provide a method for preventing shutdowns in LNG facilities by removing heavy hydrocarbons from the inlet gas supply. According to an embodiment, there is provided an LNG facility treating pipeline quality natural gas that is contaminated with lubrication oil and low concentrations of heavy hydrocarbons. Due to contamination, the behavior of the pipeline quality natural gas is not properly predicted by thermodynamic modeling. In an embodiment, heavy hydrocarbons are removed by a drain system in a heat exchanger. In an embodiment, heavy hydrocarbons are removed by a treatment bed.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROCESSING NATURAL GAS
Methods and systems for processing natural gas to meet gas pipeline specifications and/or recovering natural gas liquids (NGL). The natural gas is cooled and distilled such that propane and heavier components are produced as a bottoms NGL product, and inerts, methane, ethane, and other lighter portions are produced as a fuel gas grade/quality residue gas product stream. The gas can optionally be treated to remove hydrogen-sulfide and/or carbon dioxide. The NGL product can be split into a marketable propane and butane liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) liquid product and a natural gas condensate product.
Helium recovery from gaseous streams
Recovering helium from a gaseous stream includes contacting an acid gas removal membrane with a gaseous stream to yield a permeate stream and a residual stream, removing a majority of the acid gas from the residual stream to yield a first acid gas stream and a helium depleted clean gas stream, removing a majority of the acid gas from the permeate stream to yield a second acid gas stream and a helium rich stream, and removing helium from the helium rich stream to yield a helium product stream and a helium depleted stream. A helium removal system for removing helium from a gaseous stream including hydrocarbon gas, acid gas, and helium includes a first processing zone including a first acid gas removal unit, a second processing zone including a second acid gas removal unit, a third processing zone, and a helium purification unit.
Alternative two column HRU design with rich reflux
The invention relates to a system, method and apparatus for removing heavies from natural gas. Natural gas and an external rich reflux gas feed are processed in a single column refluxed absorber. A bottoms stream is routed to a first heat exchanger and then to a stabilizer column where an overhead stream from the stabilizer column is routed through a condenser for partial separation into an overhead stream. A rich solvent may be introduced to the stabilizer column. The overhead stream is routed through a condenser for partial separation into a stabilizer reflux and a second overhead stream lights. The second overhead stream lights is routed to a heat exchanger and then routed to a partial condenser where the stream is separated into a heavies rich reflux stream, a distillate stream and heavies treated natural gas stream. The rich reflux is routed through a heat exchanger and the rich reflux is pumped to the single column refluxed absorber to be introduced into the single column refluxed absorber as the external rich reflux gas feed.
