METHOD AND PLANT FOR GENERATION OF SYNTHESIS GAS

Method and plant for generating a synthesis gas which consists mainly of carbon monoxide and hydrogen and has been freed of acid gases, proceeding from a hydrocarbonaceous fuel, and air and steam, wherein low-temperature fractionation separates air into an oxygen stream, a tail gas stream and a nitrogen stream, wherein the tail gas stream and the nitrogen stream are at ambient temperature and the nitrogen stream is at elevated pressure, wherein the hydrocarbonaceous fuel, having been mixed with the oxygen stream and steam at elevated temperature and elevated pressure, is converted to a synthesis gas by a method known to those skilled in the art, and wherein acid gas is subsequently separated therefrom by low-temperature absorption in an absorption column, wherein the nitrogen stream generated in the fractionation of air is passed through and simultaneously cooled in an expansion turbine and then used to cool either the absorbent or the coolant circulating in the coolant circuit of the compression refrigeration plant.

The system is provided for generating a mixed methane gas feed stream using at least one source of biogas and an alternate source of methane gas. The system includes a biogas subsystem, a control device for the methane gas from the at least one alternate source of methane gas, and a vertically-extending gas mixing vessel. A method of controlling a methane gas mass flow rate of a mixed methane gas feed stream is also disclosed. The proposed concept is particularly well adapted for situations where an uninterrupted and relatively constant input of methane gas is required to ensure an optimum operation of, for instance, a LMG production plant.

Ethylene-to-liquids systems and methods

Integrated systems are provided for the production of higher hydrocarbon compositions, for example liquid hydrocarbon compositions, from methane using an oxidative coupling of methane system to convert methane to ethylene, followed by conversion of ethylene to selectable higher hydrocarbon products. Integrated systems and processes are provided that process methane through to these higher hydrocarbon products.

METHOD FOR SEPARATING A SYNTHESIS GAS

A method for separating a synthesis gas containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen including compressing a flow of synthesis gas received from a source of synthesis gas in a compressor, purifying the compressed synthesis gas in a purification unit to purify it of water and/or carbon dioxide, cooling the compressed and purified flow of synthesis gas, separating the cooled flow of synthesis gas by washing and/or distillation at a cryogenic temperature and optionally by adsorption in a separating unit, and producing at least the following three gases in the separating unit: a carbon monoxide-enriched gas, a hydrogen-enriched gas, a residual gas containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen that is less pure with respect to carbon monoxide than the carbon monoxide-enriched gas and less pure with respect to hydrogen than the hydrogen-enriched gas.

Method and arrangement for producing liquefied methane gas (LMG) from various gas sources

The method is carried out for continuously producing a liquefied methane gas (LMG) from a pressurized mixed methane gas feed stream. It is particularly well adapted for use in relatively small LMG distributed production plant, for instance those ranging from 400 to 15,000 MT per year, and/or when the mixed methane gas feed stream has a wide range of nitrogen-content proportions, including nitrogen being substantially absent. The proposed concept can also be very useful in the design of medium-scale and/or large-size plants, including ones where the nitrogen content always remains above a certain threshold. The methods and arrangements proposed herein can mitigate losses of methane gas when venting nitrogen, for instance in the atmosphere.

IMULTI-PRODUCT LIQUEFACTION METHOD AND SYSTEM

A liquefaction system is capable of sequentially or simultaneously liquefying multiple feed streams of hydrocarbons having different normal bubble points with minimal flash. The liquefying heat exchanger has separate circuits for handling multiple feed streams. The feed stream with the lowest normal boiling point is sub-cooled sufficiently to suppress most of the flash. Feed streams with relatively high normal boiling points are cooled to substantially the same temperature, then blended with bypass streams to maintain each product near its normal bubble point. The system can also liquefy one stream at a time by using a dedicated circuit or by allocating the same feed to multiple circuits.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEPARATING A SYNTHESIS GAS

In a method for separating a synthesis gas containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen, a synthesis gas flow from a synthesis gas source is compressed in a compressor and separated into at least three gaseous products. If there is insufficient synthesis gas, at least three separation products are recycled in the compressor in order to separate said products.
