One or more specific embodiments disclosed herein includes a method for separating hydrogen from an olefin hydrocarbon rich compressed effluent vapor stream, employing an integrated heat exchanger, multiple gas-liquid separators, external refrigeration systems, and a rectifier attached to a liquid product drum.

Process integration for natural gas liquid recovery

This specification relates to operating industrial facilities, for example, crude oil refining facilities or other industrial facilities that include operating plants that process natural gas or recover natural gas liquids.

Method of preparing natural gas at a gas pressure reduction stations to produce liquid natural gas (LNG)

A method to pre-treat an inlet natural gas stream at gas pressure reduction stations to produce LNG removes water and carbon dioxide from a natural gas stream. The energy required for the process is provided by recovering pressure energy in the inlet gas stream. The process eliminates the conventional gas pre-heating process at pressure reductions stations employing gas combustion heaters. The process provides a method to produce LNG at natural gas pressure reduction that meets product specifications.

Natural gas liquefaction with integrated nitrogen removal

A natural gas liquefaction method and system having integrated nitrogen removal. Recycled LNG gas is cooled in a separate and parallel circuit from the natural gas stream in the main heat exchanger. Cooled recycled gas and natural gas streams are directed to a nitrogen rectifier column after the warm bundle. The recycle stream is introduced to the rectifier column above the natural gas stream and at least one separation stage is located in the rectifier column between the recycle stream inlet and the natural gas inlet. The bottom stream from the rectifier column is directed to a cold bundle of the main heat exchanger where it is subcooled.

System and process for recovering methane and carbon dioxide from biogas and reducing greenhouse gas emissions

Various illustrative embodiments of a system and process for recovering high-quality biomethane and carbon dioxide product streams from biogas sources and utilizing or sequestering the product streams are provided. The system and process synergistically yield a biomethane product which meets gas pipeline quality specifications and a carbon dioxide product of a quality and form that allows for its transport and sequestration or utilization and reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. The system and process result in improved access to gas pipelines for products, an improvement in the carbon intensity rating of the methane fuel, and improvements in generation of credits related to reductions in emissions of greenhouse gases.

A process for liquefying hydrogen gas including the following is disclosed: cooling the hydrogen gas to an intermediate temperature by heat exchange with a refrigerant circulating in a refrigeration loop provided with a higher temperature expander and a lower temperature expander, wherein the outlet stream from the lower temperature expander contains some condensed refrigerant; a means is provided of separating the condensate from the circulating refrigerant; and further cooling of the hydrogen gas by heat exchange with evaporation and reheating of the said condensate.

The fluid in the refrigeration loop is typically methane (such as natural gas after removal of carbon dioxide, water vapor and other impurities), or nitrogen, or a mixture thereof.

Integrated hydrogen production and bio-renewable conversion process

A bio-renewable conversion process for making fuel from bio-renewable feedstocks is combined with a hydrogen production process that includes recovery of CO.sub.2. The integrated process uses a purge gas stream comprising hydrogen from the bio-renewable hydrocarbon production process in the hydrogen production process.
