Apparatus and Process for Liquefying Gases
A liquefier device which may be a retrofit to an air separation plant or utilized as part of a new design. The flow needed for the liquefier comes from an air separation plant running in a maxim oxygen state, in a stable mode. The three gas flows are low pressure oxygen, low pressure nitrogen, and higher pressure nitrogen. All of the flows are found on the side of the main heat exchanger with a temperature of about 37 degrees Fahrenheit. All of the gasses put into the liquefier come out as a subcooled liquid, for storage or return to the air separation plant. This new liquefier does not include a front end electrical compressor, and will take a self produced liquid nitrogen, pump it up to a runnable 420 psig pressure, and with the use of turbines, condensers, flash pots, and multi pass heat exchangers. The liquefier will make liquid from a planned amount of any pure gas oxygen or nitrogen an air separation plant can produce.
BOIL-OFF GAS RE-LIQUEFYING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SHIP
Disclosed is a re-liquefying device using a boil-off gas as a cooling fluid so as to reliquefy the boil-off gas generated from a liquefied gas storage tank provided in a ship. A boil-off gas re-liquefying device for a ship comprises: a multi-stage compression unit for compressing boil-off gas generated from a liquefied gas storage tank; a heat exchanger in which the boil-off gas generated from the storage tank and the boil-off gas compressed exchange heat; a vaporizer for heat exchanging the boil-off gas cooled by the heat exchanger and a separate liquefied gas supplied to a fuel demand source of a ship, and thus cooling the boil-off gas; an intermediate cooler for cooling the boil-off gas that has been cooled by the heat exchanger; and an expansion means for branching a part of the boil-off gas, which is supplied to the intermediate cooler, and expanding the same.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEPARATING AIR BY CRYOGENIC DISTILLATION
In a method for separating air by cryogenic distillation, cooled air purified to remove water is sent to a first column operating at a first pressure, where it is separated into a nitrogen-enriched gas as an oxygen-enriched liquid; a gas enriched in argon relative to the air is withdrawn from the second column; at least a portion of the oxygen-enriched liquid is vaporized by heat exchange with the argon-enriched gas; and the vaporized, oxygen-enriched liquid is sent to an intermediate level of the second column.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ARGON IN AN AIR SEPARATION PLANT FACILITY OR ENCLAVE HAVING MULTIPLE CRYOGENIC AIR SEPARATION UNITS
A system and method for argon production in an air separation plant facility or enclave having multiple cryogenic air separation units is provided. The present system and method include a centralized argon refining system disposed within one of the cryogenic air separation units and which is configured to include an argon superstaged or ultra-superstaged column arrangement having one or more argon columns and an argon condenser. Crude argon streams from one or more of the other cryogenic air separation units are directed to the argon superstaged or ultra-superstaged column arrangement of the centralized argon refining process.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REMOVING NITROGEN DURING LIQUEFACTION OF NATURAL GAS
Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for removing nitrogen during liquefaction of natural gas. In one implementation, a nitrogen rejection unit is used in an LNG facility to remove nitrogen from natural gas during an LNG liquefaction process. The nitrogen rejection unit contains at least two columns and at least one 3-stream condenser, 2-stream condenser or a two 2-stream condenser.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR THE CRYOGENIC SEPARATION OF A SYNTHESIS GAS CONTAINING A NITROGEN SEPARATION STEP
A method for separating a gas mixture comprising carbon monoxide, nitrogen and hydrogen involves sending a hydrogen-depleted fluid to a denitrification column (K2) having a top condenser (C1) and a bottom reboiler (R2) in order to produce a nitrogen-enriched gas at the top of the column and a nitrogen-depleted liquid at the bottom of the column, cooling the condenser of the denitrification column by means of a nitrogen cycle using a nitrogen compressor (V1, V2, V3), vaporising, in the heat exchanger of the condenser, the liquid nitrogen (53) from the nitrogen cycle, and returning the nitrogen (55) vaporised in the heat exchanger to the nitrogen compressor.
PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCTION OF CARBON MONOXIDE BY PARTIAL CONDENSATION
A process for separating a mixture of hydrogen, methane and carbon monoxide by cryogenic distillation. The mixture is cooled in a first heat exchanger and is partially condensed in at least one second heat exchanger which is a bottom reboiler of a first or second column of the column system and at least one portion of the liquid produced by the partial condensation is sent to an intermediate level of the first column.
Method and System for Liquifying a Gas
A method and system for producing liquid air wherein liquid refrigerant is cycled between two core tanks maintained at a temperature sufficient to liquify compressed air passed through condensing tubing in the interior of the core tanks. Liquid refrigerant is cycled by alternating high pressure gas from a high pressure tank to one of the core tanks, which forces liquid refrigerant from this tank through an expansion device to expand a portion of the liquid refrigerant to absorb heat in the other core tank, the resulting refrigerant gas being driven into a low pressure tank. A compression device transfers the refrigerant gas from the low pressure tank to the high pressure tank and maintains the pressure in the high pressure tank. Connections between the low and high pressure tanks and the core tanks are reversed with each cycle.
