A unit for producing argon by cryogenic distillation, suitable for connection to a double air separation column consisting of first and second columns interconnected thermally, comprises an argon separation column surmounted with a top condenser and a denitrogenation column, means for withdrawing an argon-rich and nitrogen-depleted product (LAR) at the bottom of the denitrogenation column, means for connecting the top of the argon separation column to the denitrogenation column, means for sending a top gas from the argon separation column to the atmosphere, means for withdrawing a nitrogen-rich fluid from the top of the denitrogenation column, an analyser for measuring the nitrogen content at the top of the argon separation column, and means for opening and closing the means for connecting the top of the argon separation column to the denitrogenation column depending on the nitrogen content detected by the analyser.
METHOD AND FACILITY FOR STORING AND DISTRIBUTING LIQUEFIED HYDROGEN
The invention relates to a method for storing and distributing liquefied hydrogen using a facility that comprises a store of liquid hydrogen at a predetermined storage pressure, a source of hydrogen gas, a liquefier comprising an inlet connected to the source and an outlet connected to the liquid hydrogen store, the store comprising a pipe for drawing liquid, comprising one end connected to the liquid hydrogen store and one end intended for being connected to at least one mobile tank, the method comprising a step of liquefying hydrogen gas supplied by the source and a step of transferring the liquefied hydrogen into the store characterized in that the hydrogen liquefied by the liquefier and transferred into the store has a temperature lower than the bubble temperature of hydrogen at the storage pressure.
Method of preparing natural gas to produce liquid natural gas (LNG)
A method of stripping carbon dioxide from a stream of natural gas to be used in the production of liquid natural gas (LNG) comprises the steps of: passing a stream of natural gas through a stripping column; injecting a stripping agent into the stripping column, the stripping agent stripping carbon dioxide from the stream of natural gas and exiting the stripping column as a liquid phase; passing the stripping agent exiting the stripping column through a regenerator column to generate a carbon dioxide gas stream and a recovered stripping agent stream; and cooling the recovered stripping agent stream using a cryogenic vapour generated in the production of LNG and injecting the cooled, recovered stripping agent stream into the stripping column as the stripping agent.
Method and installation for storing and dispensing liquefied hydrogen
Installation and method for storing and dispensing liquefied hydrogen involving a source of gaseous hydrogen, a liquefier, and two storage reservoirs for liquid hydrogen at determined respective storage pressures, wherein the liquefier includes an inlet connected to the source and an outlet connected in parallel, via a set of valves, to a respective inlet of each storage reservoir.
CRACKER MODULAR PROCESSING FACILITY
The various processes of an ethane cracker plant may be segmented into separate process blocks, which may be interconnected using fluid conduits and/or electrical connections. These process blocks may be directly connected, for example without an external piperack or other external piping interconnecting process blocks. Each process block may be formed of one or more modules The process blocks can include an ethane cracking furnace, a steam generation process, a water stripper, a water quench, a compression, a caustic scrubber, a drier, a deethanizer, an acetylene conversion, a demethanizer, a refrigerator, or a splitter.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPLYING A CRYOGENIC STREAM WITH A CONTROLLED TEMPERATURE FROM A BACK-UP SYSTEM
A method for temperature-controlled delivery of the gaseous product at temperatures at or below ambient in the event of an air separation unit failure. In one embodiment, a first portion of a stored cryogenic liquid product is sent to the back-up vaporizer and heated to ambient conditions, and a second portion of stored cryogenic liquid product, which is at the cryogenic storage temperature, bypasses the back-up vaporizer using a bypass line controlled by a bypass valve and is mixed with the vaporized gas. This mixed stream will then preferably go through a static mixer in order to get to an homogenous temperature that is below the ambient temperature. A temperature control loop can be used to adjust the opening of the by-pass valve in order to reach the desired product temperature.
APPARATUS FOR THE SEPARATION OR LIQUEFACTION OF A GAS OPERATING AT CRYOGENIC TEMPERATURES
An apparatus for the separation or liquefaction of a gas at cryogenic temperatures which comprises an isolated chamber comprises at least one front distillation column operating at cryogenic temperatures and also a pipe for transferring fluid coming from or going to the column, the pipe having a diameter D comprising a bend for changing the direction of flow of the fluid, with profiled deflector vanes placed inside the bend, with their concavity towards the centre of the bend forming a plurality of ducts.
Device for coupling two boats
A device for rapidly remotely coupling together two vessels, in particular a first ship or floating support and a second ship, comprises: at least one floating and docking structure fastened to or suitable for being releasably fastened to the side and/or the keel of the hull of a second vessel; and at least two actuators spaced in succession from one another in the longitudinal direction of the first vessel. The actuator cylinder of each the actuator is arranged to be fastened to the side of the hull of the first vessel, using a first fastener and pivot hinge device. The end of the rod of each actuator is arranged to be fastened to or suitable for being fastened to the floating and docking structure via a second fastener and pivot hinge device.
Method for air cooled, large scale, floating LNG production with liquefaction gas as only refrigerant
A method for large-scale, air-cooled floating liquefaction, storage and offloading of natural gas gathered from onshore gas pipeline networks. Gas gathered from on-shore pipeline quality gas sources and pre-treated to remove unwanted compounds is compressed and cooled onshore before being piped to an offshore vessel for liquefaction to produce LNG.
