Method and Device for Treating a Fibrous Material Web in a Long Nip Pressing Unit
A method for treating a pulp web in a paper or tissue machine with an extended-nip press unit. This extended-nip press unit includes a shoe press roll with a revolving press belt and a backing roll, where the pulp web is dewatered in the extended press nip between the backing roll and the press belt and where the pulp web is carried on the revolving press belt of the press roll after the extended press nip to a transfer fabric that receives the pulp web. The transfer fabric is guided over a stationary transfer device in the transfer area. A corresponding device for treating the pulp web.

THROUGH-AIR DRYING APPARATUS
The disclosure is directed towards a through-air drying system comprising a hood and a rotatable cylinder with a porous cylindrical deck. The system includes a seal, and more particularly a seal along the lateral edges of the system. The seal generally prevents the exhaust of drying medium from the system through the gap between the hood and the rotatable cylinder and enables the system to be operated at positive air pressure. The seal may be formed by providing the hood with an axial hood flange, which extends at least partially along the bottom edge of the hood and overlaps an axial annular flange disposed on the cylinder when the hood is in a closed and sealed position.

CONTINUOUS ROLL-TO-ROLL FREEZE-DRYING SYSTEM AND PROCESS
Roll-to-roll freeze-drying (lyophilization) system and process for facilitating freeze-drying processes and enabling the collection of data by which a freeze-drying process can be monitored and evaluated. Such a system includes a roll-to-roll freeze-drying apparatus adapted to continuously freeze and dry a liquid to form a freeze-dried and encapsulate freeze-dried sheet portions of the freeze-dried sheet to create premeasured pouches containing the freeze-dried sheet portions. The system further includes a metrology section that monitors any of the freeze-dried sheet and the freeze-dried sheet portions during the freezing and drying of the liquid to generate data for controlling the freezing and drying of the liquid.

Air-wiping device opening and closing in one level plane
An air-wiping device for removing particulates, including water, adhering to an elongated member by compressed air is provided. In particular, this invention relates to an air-wiping device that loads said elongated member by opening with a sliding motion in one plane, instead of swinging open in two planes that is commonly to the conventional air-wiping devices embodied in a clamshell configuration, which not only substantially shortens the loading time but also greatly reduces the floor space needed to accommodate said device.
