Multi-stage gravity-type sludge drying apparatus and method for drying sludge using same
Disclosed are a multi-stage gravity-type sludge drying apparatus and a sludge drying method using the same. The drying apparatus includes: a dryer, a preheater, a steam generator, a filter, a steam or water separation buffer tank, a steam compressor, a cooling water pump, a sealed discharge device, pipes and valves. The dryer includes several indirect dryer modules. The transportation of sludge in the dryer is achieved by gravity. The inner cavity of respective indirect dryers is filled with high-temperature steam to dry the sludge by indirect heating. The condensate water in the cavity is recycled and fed into the preheater to perform preheating and impurity removal on the wet sludge. The secondary steam generated in the dryer is filtered, compressed and overheated to become a new heat source for indirect heating in the cavity and convection drying at a bottom of the dryer.
System and method for multi-functional slurry processing
A multi-functional slurry processing system (“VARCOR”) and associated methods is disclosed. The present examples provide a multi-functional slurry processing system incorporating systems and methods for separating liquid and solid components in slurries. In particular the systems and methods described herein produce clean water, dried solids, and potential concentration of desirable constituents with a boiling point lower than water. At least one example of the multi-functional slurry processing system provides a self-contained processing facility configured to efficiently convert high water-content slurries into its constituent solid and liquid fractions and subsequently generating and collecting clean water and concentrating desirable constituents with a boiling point lower than water. The multi-functional slurry processing system advantageously applies thermodynamic principles in a system which may include various combinations of a preheater, a degassing unit, a dryer, a steam filter, a compressor, a concentrating tower, and a condensation unit.
System and method for treating oil sludge
An oil sludge treatment system includes: a reduced-pressure fermentation dryer; a filtration apparatus; and a cleaner. The reduced-pressure fermentation dryer is configured to: store oil sludge in an airtight container; heat and stir the oil sludge under reduced pressure so that a temperature of the oil sludge is within a predetermined temperature range; decompose organic matter contained in the oil sludge using microorganisms while evaporating water; and obtain volume-reduced dried product. The filtration apparatus filters oil from the dried product. The cleaner cleans, by steam, the dried product from which the oil has been filtered.
Dehydrator for biological material
A dehydrator apparatus for dehydrating biological material. The apparatus includes an external housing, and a vessel supported within said external housing and spanning in a longitudinal direction thereof in elevated relation from a bottom of the housing. A loading inlet feeds into said vessel from outside the housing for admission of biological material. An air intake feeds into the housing to deliver heated air thereto from a hot air source, and air routing components within the external housing guide the heated air into heat exchange relationship with the vessel itself, and also into heating and aerating exposure to contents of said vessel. An agitator is installed in operable relation to the vessel to agitate the material fed thereinto via the material inlet. An exhaust outlet exhausts the heated air from the housing after having heated and aerated the vessel and its contents.
THERMAL SLUDGE TO ENERGY TRANSFORMER
Systems and processes provide for a thermal process to transform sludge (and a variety of other natural waste materials) into electricity. Dewatered sludge and other materials containing a high amount of latent energy are dried into a powdered biofuel using a drying gas produced in the system. The drying gas is recirculated and is heated by the biofuel produced in the system, waste heat (from turbines or internal combustion engines), gas (including natural gas or digester gas) and/or oil. The biofuel is combusted in a boiler system that utilizes a burner operable to burn biofuel and produce heat utilized in a series of heat exchangers that heat the recirculating drying air and steam that powers the turbines for electricity production.
METHOD OF DRYING A SUBSTANCE USING SECTIONAL TEMPERATURE CONTROL
A method of drying a substance, the method comprising the steps of distributing the substance on a first belt having a side adapted to receive the substance; urging the substance via the side of the first belt towards at least two adjacent sections of an exterior circumferential surface of at least one drum rotatable about a central axis; heating the substance on the first belt via a plurality of heating devices arranged proximate to and about each said section of the drum to heat the substance to remove fluids from the substance; and separately controlling the heating devices proximate to each said section of the drum to heat the substance at different heating temperatures at each section thereof while traveling on the first belt around the drum.
Efficient Solar Powered Removal of Volatile Components from Slurries
A system and method for the removal of volatile components from a liquid or a slurry containing solids and liquids and using a screw conveyor or auger system that transfers solid/liquid slurries through an elongated tube heated by solar energy from a parabolic solar trough. The system flashes off the volatile component then counter-currently flows that vapor back into the hollow pipe inside of the augur creating a Multi-effect or Multi Flash device which greatly improves the overall efficiency of removal of the volatile material.
