AIR FLOW CONTROL TECHNOLOGY FOR OVENS
20220018548 · 2022-01-20 ·

A system and apparatus for controlling airflow in large industrial forced-convection ovens that are used for cooking, smoking, drying, and processing meat and food products. The system and apparatus reduce temperature, color, and yield variation within the ovens, and also reduce cooking times and power requirements. The system and apparatus use variable-width supply-air slots and dual, side-mounted return ducts to precisely control the airflow within the oven so that the air can be directed to the slowest cooking areas in the oven.

Conveying a material to be conveyed

A conveying system (1) for conveying a material along a conveying path. The system (1) includes a system housing (3) having a conveying chamber (5), in which the conveying path is arranged, and having at least one secondary chamber (6 to 8), which is connected to the conveying chamber (5) by at least one passage opening and has a fluid atmosphere that is physically and/or chemically different from the fluid atmosphere in the conveying chamber (5). The at least one passage opening (9, 10) and the fluid atmospheres in the conveying chamber (5) and the at least one secondary chamber (6 to 8) set a defined fluid flow in the system housing (3).

The invention relates to an industrial autoclave used for curing rubber. The autoclave includes a hollow outer body for receiving a product. It also includes a pair of oil-based heat exchangers which are disposed in passageways defined by a pair of ducts. The heat exchangers are connected in parallel to one another in fluid flow communication to a supply of heated oil. Each heat exchanger includes a plurality of serially interconnected, parallel finned radiators which allow passage of the oil therethrough facilitating heat transfer to air passing over the radiators. A fan ensures air circulation. This autoclave is a non-pressurized system with very little wear properties, no risk of fire, no need for a condensate tank and no water treatment is required. In addition, a considerable saving in terms of power consumption is made when compared to electrical autoclaves.

An induction oven for the sterilization of equipment is disclosed. The invention effectively reduces sterilization cycle times from 90 minutes to less than 30 minutes using dry heat. In addition to increased efficiency, the dry heat also avoids pitting and other forms of degradation of the materials being sterilized. The oven can be configured by the user to generate a resonance of a particular frequency to target the specific type of metal or other induction material being heated. Target induction materials include cast iron, stainless steel, brass, and graphite, for example. The oven includes a coil that generates the time-varying electromagnetic field using a two-dimensional spiral having a rectangular pattern. The spiral coil is formed on a printed circuit board. The oven is configured to receive a container for heating articles. The container includes a bin, e.g., aluminum, and transparent lid with a gasket therebetween to produce an airtight seal. The container can be used to both sterilize equipment as well as store the sterilized equipment without contamination.
