Method and system for furnace sealing
The present invention relates generally to furnace systems and more particularly, but not by way of limitation, to a split-ring assembly for sealing a junction between a catalyst tube and a furnace. In one aspect, the present invention relates to a ring-seal assembly. The ring-seal assembly includes a housing ring coupled to an outer surface of a furnace. The housing ring is disposed around a circumference of a tube proximate a junction with the furnace. The ring seal assembly further includes a brush seal that is at least partially disposed within the housing ring. The brush seal is disposed around the circumference of the tube. A plurality of brushes extend radially inwardly from the brush seal towards the tube.
System and method for an electrode seal assembly
A sealing system for isolating the environment inside a vitrification container from the outside environment comprises a vitrification container with a lid. The lid comprises two or more electrode seal assemblies through which two or more electrodes may be operatively positioned and extend down through the lid into the vitrification container. The electrodes may move axially up and down through the electrode seal assemblies or lock into place. The electrode seal assemblies each comprise a housing having two halves with recessed ring grooves. Sealing rings with a split may be placed into the grooves. Gas galleries may be machined or cast into the housing such that they are adjacent to the ring grooves. The gas galleries distribute gas onto the external faces of the sealing rings causing a change in pressure resulting in the sealing rings compressing onto the electrodes and forming a seal.
Decompression heat-insulating pipe structure
Provided is a decompression heat-insulating pipe structure that can be used in the system operating at high temperatures. A decompression heat-insulating pipe structure of the present disclosure includes: an outer tube and an inner tube each having a flange; and a seal member between the flanges, the seal member being configured to keep a space between the outer tube and the inner tube in a decompression state, and a shifting means configured to shift the outer tube and the inner tube relatively so as to selectively dispose the tubes at a pressing position to press the seal member between the flanges and at a cancellation position to cancel the pressing of the seal member.
Method and arrangement for preventing gas from leaving an opening of a vessel
An arrangement (10) for preventing egress of a gas from a first opening of a vessel, the vessel including at least one other opening through which the gas can leave the vessel, the arrangement comprising an open passage (48) extending substantially around the first opening, the open passage (48) receiving a flow of gas such that the flow of gas leaves the open passage and flows towards and into the vessel to cause a gas from the environment external to the vessel to be drawn into the vessel. The arrangement may comprise a Coanda surface. The arrangement may be in the form of an inert for placement in the opening to the furnace.
Mechanical rotary hydraulically cooled seal, roller support, and drive for thermal kiln retorts
Systems and methods for sealing a static or rotary tube to a rotary tube that is part of a thermal unit performing an airless or oxygen starved high-temperature incineration process like pyrolysis in such a way that the joining of the tubes does not interfere with the oxygen controlled processes within the rotating thermal unit tube. Embodiments comprise a seal comprising chambers for sealing material supported by rollers contacting flanges of rotating tube elements and suspended by gimbals to permit the seal to move in a transverse direction, to swing, and to rotate while maintaining the seal.
ELECTRODE SEAL FOR USE IN A METALLURGICAL FURNACE
An electrode seal for use in a metallurgical furnace, the furnace comprising a furnace space heated by electrodes extending through an aperture into the furnace space. The electrode seal comprises at least three sets of shoes in consecutive lateral contact, each shoe having a biasing member for biasing a surface of the shoe toward one of the electrodes thereby allowing the one electrode to longitudinally move within the electrode seal while providing electrical insulation between the electrode and the aperture.
THERMAL REDUCTION APPARATUS FOR METAL PRODUCTION, GATE DEVICE, CONDENSING SYSTEM, AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
Disclosed is a thermal reduction apparatus. The thermal reduction apparatus according to the exemplary embodiment includes: a preheating unit which preheats a to-be-reduced material and loads the to-be-reduced material into a reducing unit; the reducing unit which is connected to the preheating unit and in which a thermal reduction reaction of the to-be-reduced material occurs; a cooling unit which is connected to the reducing unit and from which the to-be-reduced material flowing into the cooling unit is unloaded to the outside; a gate device which is installed between the preheating unit and the reducing unit; a gate device which is installed between the reducing unit and the cooling unit; a condensing device which is connected to the reducing unit and condenses a metal vapor; a first blocking unit which is installed in the reducing unit; and a second blocking unit which is installed in the reducing unit so as to be spaced apart from the first blocking unit.
Sintering Furnance
Disclosed is a sintering furnace comprising a furnace body and a lifting device, wherein the furnace body comprises a furnace chamber (10) and a furnace mouth (20), the furnace chamber (10) is connected with the furnace mouth (20), wherein the sintering furnace further comprises a sealing member (30) provided at the lifting device; when the sintering furnace is in a loading or unloading condition, the sealing member (30) blocks the furnace mouth (20). When the sintering furnace is in an unloading condition, the sealing member (30) can block the furnace mouth (20), the furnace chamber (10) does not contact with the outside directly, thus the temperature in the furnace chamber (10) will not drop sharply, and the service life of the sintering furnace will be increased.
Installation for treating a material
An installation for treating material having a treatment chamber equipped with an envelope which separates a controlled atmosphere which is present in its interior from an atmosphere which is present outside the envelope and a housing which delimits the treatment chamber. At least one supporting roller for conveying the material is arranged at least partly inside the treatment chamber. One or more mounting apparatuses for mounting at least one supporting roller are arranged outside the housing. A flexible compensating element is provided between at least one mounting apparatus and a wall, which is associated with the latter, of the housing, there being provided a sealing arrangement which is connected to said compensating element and which separates the at least one mounting apparatus from the atmosphere which is present inside the envelope.
