3D STRUCTURES AND METHODS THEREFOR
Aspects of the disclosure are directed to methods and/or apparatuses involving one or more of a conductive polymer, deposition of a conductive polymer and 3D (three-dimensional) printing of a continuous bead of material. As may be implemented in accordance with one or more embodiments characterized herein, a 3D structure is formed as follows. A stacked layer is formed by depositing a continuous bead of material along an uninterrupted path that defines a first layer of the 3D structure. A sidewall of the 3D structure is formed with opposing surfaces respectively defined by successive stacked layers of the 3D structure by, for each stacked layer (including the first layer), depositing the continuous bead of material along the path and with a surface thereof in contact with a surface of the continuous bead of material of an adjacent one of the stacked layers.
Methods and systems for controlling temperature in a vessel
A syngas cooler system includes a pressure vessel, a conduit, a plenum, a plenum, a conduit, and a bellows assembly. The pressure vessel includes a throat and a dome adjacent to the throat. The throat includes an area of excess heat, and the dome includes an area of deficient heat. The plenum extends between the throat and the bellows assembly. The bellows assembly is coupled at least partially within the dome. The conduit is coupled to the plenum for channeling a flow of purge fluid from external to the pressure vessel into the plenum such that purge fluid transfers heat from the area of excess heat into the area of deficient heat to facilitate reducing temperature differential stresses within the dome and the pressure vessel.
Modulator for sub-cool condenser
A modulator for a sub-cool condenser assembly including a condenser. The modulator includes a plurality of extruded tubes positioned to convey liquid refrigerant towards an outlet of the modulator.
HEAT EXCHANGER CLOSURE ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS OF USING AND INSTALLING THE SAME
A heat exchanger assembly including an elongated tubular heat exchanger enclosure defining an interior chamber. A tube sheet is positioned within the interior chamber of the heat exchanger enclosure separating the interior chamber into a shell side and a channel side. The interior portion is configured to removably receive a tube bundle positioned within the shell side of the interior chamber. An annular sleeve member is positioned within the channel side of the interior chamber of the heat exchanger enclosure. An annular elastic torsion member is positioned within the channel side of the interior chamber of the heat exchanger such that the sleeve member is positioned between the tube sheet and the elastic torsion member. The elastic torsion member has an inner circumference deflectable relative to its outer circumference for torsioning the elastic torsion member.
Aircraft skin heat exchanger
An aircraft heat exchanger system according to an exemplary embodiment of this disclosure, among other possible things includes a first heat exchanger assembly that is disposed in an inlet duct assembly, and a skin heat exchanger assembly is in thermal communication with an outer surface of an aircraft structure. The skin heat exchanger is in fluid communication with the first heat exchanger such that a working fluid is communicated therebetween.

Heat exchanger, such as a charge air cooler
A heat exchanger, such as a water cooled charge air cooler, is disclosed for cooling of charge air with the aid of coolant. In at least one embodiment, the heat exchanger includes charge air tubes and coolant turbulators made of corrugated sheet metal interposed between the air tubes. The turbulators define coolant channels and including at least one turbulating device provided therein. According to at least one embodiment of the invention, at least one channel includes at least one continuously shaped side wall which is non-apertured along its entire length and thus promotes coolant flow along the channel by inhibiting cross flow of coolant to a neighbouring channel.
ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED GEARBOX WITH INTEGRAL HEAT EXCHANGER
A gearbox and a method for additively manufacturing the gearbox are provided. The gearbox includes a housing having an integral heat exchanger additively manufactured within the housing. The heat exchanger includes a plurality of heat exchange passageways for transferring heat between two or more fluids. The heat exchanger is defined at any suitable location or locations within the housing, for example, within voids defined between the walls of the housing and components housed within housing, such as driveshafts, gears, bearings, etc.
