HEAT EXCHANGER
A heat exchanger core includes a medium inlet and a medium outlet for the heat transfer fluid to be cooled and a plurality of plates extending from a first end (A) to a second end (B) of the heat exchanger core and defining flow conduits therebetween from the medium inlet to the medium outlet. The core also has a plurality of fins between the plates for directing a coolant medium across the flow conduit. One of the flow conduits has a larger cross-section than the other flow conduits, and the inlet is provided at a first end of the one of the flow conduits adjacent the first end of the heat exchanger core, or between the first end and the second end.
REFRIGERATION CIRCUIT AND REFRIGERATION DEVICE
A refrigeration circuit includes: a gas-liquid separator into which a gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant flowed out from a condenser flows, the gas-liquid separator being configured to separate the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant into a vapor phase refrigerant and a liquid phase refrigerant; and a plate heat exchanger including a first heat exchanging part and a second heat exchanging part, the first heat exchanging part being a part where the vapor phase refrigerant flowed out from the gas-liquid separator and the liquid phase refrigerant flowed out from the gas-liquid separator exchange heat, the second heat exchanging part being a part where the vapor phase refrigerant flowed out from the first heat exchanging part and a returning refrigerant flowed out from an evaporator exchange heat.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL HEAT TRANSFER DEVICE
A three-dimensional heat transfer device includes a vapor chamber and a plurality of flatten heat pipes. The flatten heat pipes are disposed on the vapor chamber and arranged along an extension direction of a short side of the vapor chamber. Major axes of cross-sections of the flatten heat pipes are parallel to a long side of the vapor chamber.
HEAT EXCHANGER FOR A LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS FACILITY
A method of constructing a plate fin heat exchanger includes joining a first side bar formed from a nickel-iron alloy to a first end of a fin element formed from a nickel-iron alloy through a first nickel-iron alloy bond, and joining a second side bar formed from a nickel-iron alloy to a second end of the fin element through a second nickel-iron alloy bond to create a first layer of the plate fin heat exchanger. The fin element defines a fluid passage.
EVAPORATIVE COOLING DEVICE
A evaporative cooling device is described having a pair of heat conducting plates arranged in spaced, generally parallel relationship with spacing elements separating the plates from one another and defining primary and secondary flow channels between the plates. Inlet ducts are connected to the primary channels and outlet ducts connect from the primary and secondary channels. A water distribution system is also provided to supply water to the secondary channels such that a primary air flow through the primary channels may be cooled by heat conduction along the plates to cause evaporation of the water into a secondary air flow through the secondary channels.
GASKET, APPARATUS INCORPORATING SAME AND METHOD
This invention relates to gaskets, apparatus incorporating said gaskets and to methods of using them. In particular, there is provided a gasket comprising a closed loop of resilient material, the loop having an inner periphery and an outer periphery, the gasket having a first thickness at a first position which is between 0% and 30% of the gasket width away from the outer periphery, a second thickness at a second position measured at a point at least 50% of the gasket width from the first position, and a third thickness at a third position intermediate the first and second positions and at least 10% of the gasket width from each, the first thickness being greater than the third thickness which is greater than the second thickness, and wherein either a said gasket reduces in thickness from the first thickness to the third thickness and then to the second thickness via one or more tapered sections which taper linearly to a reduced thickness in the direction towards the inner periphery, or b said gasket reduces in thickness from the first thickness to the third thickness via one or more steps which step to a reduced thickness in the direction towards the inner periphery and then from the third thickness to the second thickness via one or more steps which step to a reduced thickness in the direction towards the inner periphery, or c said gasket reduces in thickness from the first thickness to the third thickness and then to the second thickness via a combination of one or more steps and one or more tapered sections as defined above.
CORROSION-RESISTANT HEAT EXCHANGER MATRIX AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SUCH A MATRIX
A metal matrix (2) for a heat exchanger (1), comprising a stack of components (4, 5, 6), in particular etched plates or corrugations (4), separator sheets (5) and bars (6), or a combination of the two types of stack, said components (4, 5, 6) being held relative to one another by layers of braze material (3), thereby ensuring the mechanical integrity of the matrix, the matrix including fluid circulation passages (10) within it, each fluid circulation passage (10) having an inner wall provided to fully contain said fluid radially, characterized in that each inner wall is fully covered with a corrosion-resistant coating (7).
Preferred application to heat exchangers based on carbon steel or stainless steel.
Methods and devices for heating or cooling viscous materials
The invention provides methods and devices for heating or cooling viscous materials such as meat emulsions useful for producing food and other products. The devices include a heat exchanger comprising a first plate, a second plate attached to the first plate, and a first spacer and a second spacer arranged between the first plate and the second plate. The first plate, the second plate, the first spacer, and the second spacer define at least one temperature controlled passage for a product to pass through the heat exchanger.
