Various implementations described herein relate to a heat sink having a base and a plurality of fins extending from the base. Each of the plurality of fins is spaced apart from other ones of the plurality of fins. The plurality of fins includes first fins and second fins. Each of the first fins is perpendicular to any of the second fins.

Liquid-cooled cold plate

A liquid-cooled cold plate for removing heat from a heat-generating component is disclosed. The liquid-cooled cold plate includes a lower heat transfer plate with a flat component contact surface constructed to make thermal contact with the heat-generating component, and a plurality of parallel turbulator channels, holding a plurality of turbulators, the channels having walls that extend away from the component contact surface. The liquid-cooled cold plate also includes a lid forming a liquid tight seal with the lower heat transfer plate. The lid has an inlet end with an inlet port in fluid connection with an inlet channel manifold that allows for fluid communication between the plurality of parallel turbulator channels and the inlet port. The lid also has an outlet end with an outlet port in fluid connection with an outlet channel manifold that allows for fluid communication between the plurality of parallel turbulator channels and the outlet port.

HEAT EXCHANGER CLOSURE ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS OF USING AND INSTALLING THE SAME

A heat exchanger assembly including an elongated tubular heat exchanger enclosure defining an interior chamber. A tube sheet is positioned within the interior chamber of the heat exchanger enclosure separating the interior chamber into a shell side and a channel side. The interior portion is configured to removably receive a tube bundle positioned within the shell side of the interior chamber. An annular sleeve member is positioned within the channel side of the interior chamber of the heat exchanger enclosure. An annular elastic torsion member is positioned within the channel side of the interior chamber of the heat exchanger such that the sleeve member is positioned between the tube sheet and the elastic torsion member. The elastic torsion member has an inner circumference deflectable relative to its outer circumference for torsioning the elastic torsion member.

Heat exchanger with enhanced end sheet heat transfer

A heat exchanger with increased heat transfer capability includes first and second end plates, tubes extending between the first and second end plates and fins disposed between the tubes. The heat exchanger is disposable within and differs in shape from a space defined between first and second walls such that corners of the first end plate abut the first wall and a point of the second end plate abuts the second wall, the first wall diverges from the corners of the first end plate to define a first open region and the second wall diverges from the point of the second end plate to define second open regions. At least one of the first end plate and the second end plates includes enhancements fluidly communicative with the at least one corresponding one of the first open region and the second open regions.

Cooling unit

A cooling unit has a member-to-be-cooled, a duct, and a cushioning material. The member-to-be-cooled has a plurality of cooling fins. The duct is fixed to the member-to-be-cooled, has a partition wall facing the plurality of cooling fins, and conveys a fluid to around the plurality of cooling fins. The cushioning material is disposed between the partition wall and the plurality of cooling fins and fixed to the partition wall.

Evaporator and refrigeration system

An evaporator (2) comprising: a casing (5); a plurality of heat transfer tubes (12) which are immersed in a liquid refrigerant (RL) in a liquid-phase region (A1) and in the interior of which a fluid having a higher temperature than that of the liquid refrigerant (RL) flows; and a demister (7) which is provided so as to cover from above the liquid surface (Ls) of the liquid refrigerant (RL) accommodated in the liquid-phase region (A1), and which traps liquid droplets contained in evaporated gas refrigerant (RG). The demister (7) comprises inclined sections (13) which, when viewed in a cross section intersecting the axial line (O2) of the heat transfer tubes (12), separate from the liquid surface (Ls) toward the center portion of the casing (5) along the liquid surface (Ls).

Heat exchanger assembly and method for assembling same

A heat exchanger assembly and a method for assembling the heat exchanger assembly is provided. The heat exchanger assembly comprises a first heat exchanger and a second heat exchanger, and a subcooler; a first heat exchanger cold box, for accommodating the first heat exchanger and heat exchange fluid pipelines, with a first opening being disposed in a side of the first heat exchanger cold box, and a first group of pipelines extending through the first opening; a second heat exchanger cold box, for accommodating the second heat exchanger and heat exchange fluid pipelines, with a second opening being disposed in a side of the second heat exchanger cold box, and a second group of pipelines extending through the second opening; a subcooler cold box, for accommodating the subcooler and heat exchange fluid pipelines, with a third opening and a fourth opening being disposed in a side of the subcooler cold box, and a third group of pipelines and a fourth group of pipelines extending through the third opening and the fourth opening respectively, wherein the first group of pipelines and the third group of pipelines are connected and encapsulated in a first thermally isolating casing, and the second group of pipelines and the fourth group of pipelines are connected and encapsulated in a second thermally isolating casing.

In a seal structure for a heat exchanger, the seal structure being mounted on a baffle plate disposed in a shell included in the heat exchanger and being partially in contact with a wall surface on an inner surface side of the shell, the seal plate is composed of a plurality of thin plates which are laminated; the thin plates are in contact with the wall surface while being curved by an elastic deformation; a contact thin plate serving as one of the thin plates located on an outermost side of the curve is in contact with the wall surface; and an outer surface of the contact thin plate serving as a surface on an outside of the curve among surfaces arranged in a thickness direction of the contact thin plate is in contact with the wall surface so as to restrain seal performance from deteriorating.

Heat exchanger module with an adapter module for direct mounting to a vehicle component

A heat exchanger module adapted for being mounted directly to the outer surface of the housing of an automobile system component, such as a transmission or engine housing, is provided. The heat exchanger module has a heat exchanger fixedly attached to an adapter module. The adapter module contains one of more fluid transfer channels and includes a portion that extends outwardly beyond the footprint of the heat exchanger. The adapter module is comprised of a first embossed plate that is sealed with a second plate, which may also be embossed. The embossments provide fluid transfer channels and also perform as structural ribs to enhance the rigidity of the adapter module.
