CAPTURING CARBON DIOXIDE

Techniques for distributing a liquid in a liquid-gas system include flowing a liquid into a system of nozzles and basin of the liquid-gas contacting system; and operating the nozzles and basin system with a distribution sub-assembly configured to operate the nozzles under a plurality of liquid flow rates and maintaining a consistent spatial liquid distribution of the liquid within the distribution sub-assembly at the plurality of liquid flow rates.

Hot water distribution system and method for a cooling tower

A cooling tower with a hot water distribution system includes a distribution lateral disposed above a hot water basin. The distribution lateral discharges fluid into the hot water basin, which in turn, releases the fluid through a plurality of orifices. As the fluid is released, it falls on heat-exchanging fill material that assists in increasing the cooling rate of the fluid. The distribution lateral is configured structurally to discharge the fluid through a plurality of outlets at one or more angles (as compared to the horizontal) into the hot water basins. In one embodiment, the outlets are arranged into one or more rows that extend along a substantial length of the distribution lateral. Discharging the fluid in this manner enhances and promotes a more even fluid flow within the hot water basin, which results in a more even fluid flow over and onto the fill material, thereby increasing thermal efficiency.

The present invention relates to a cooling tower for cooling water, improved to evenly spray the cooling-water, wherein each component is manufactured in a modularized form and then each module is integrated and installed at an installation site to correspond to the scale of the cooling tower. The cooling tower includes a water tank, a filling material, a cooling-water circulation facility, an eliminator, and a fan, wherein, between the filling material and the water tank, an air intake port through which external air is introduced and a guide having a concave cross-sectional shape to guide the introduced air to the center using a pressure difference between the inside and the outside thereof are additionally provided so that cooling efficiency of the cooling-water can be improved and productivity of the cooling tower as well as convenience in transportation and installation can be maximized.

COOLING TOWER WITH INDIRECT HEAT EXCHANGER

A heat exchange apparatus is provided with an indirect evaporative heat exchange section. The indirect evaporative heat exchange section includes a series of serpentine tubes, and an evaporative liquid is passed downwardly onto the indirect heat exchange section. The evaporative liquid is collected in a sump and then pumped upwardly to be distributed again across the indirect heat exchange section.

An improved heat exchange apparatus is provided with an indirect evaporative heat exchange section including a series of serpentine tubes with run sections and return bend sections of both normal and increased height. A direct heat exchange section may be provided in the vertical spacing between run sections formed by the increased height return bends.
