Indirect charge-air cooler
A heat exchanger, such as an indirect charge-air cooler for an internal combustion engine, may include a first duct system including a plurality of pipes, a second duct system, a collector including a base part and a box part, and at least two opposite side parts. The plurality of pipes may be arranged between the side parts, and the first duct system may be fluidically separated from the second duct system. The box part may bear against at least one of the side parts via a first contact surface. At least one frame part may be provided and coupled in a non-positively locking connection and/or a cohesive connection, for example by pressing and/or brazing, to a respective outer edge of the side parts, a respective outer edge of the base part, and/or a respect outer edge of the box part.
INTEGRATED CONNECTOR AND HEAT EXCHANGER INCLUDING THE SAME
The present invention relates to an integrated connector and a heat exchanger including the same, in which a connector main body is formed by pressing one pipe, a cap is press-fitted into the connector main body, such that the integrated connector is formed so that an interior of the connector main body is blocked by the cap. Therefore, the number of components used to manufacture a connector, which connects and securely couples a header tank and a gas-liquid separator, may be reduced, the integrated connector may be easily manufactured, and a brazing defect may be reduced at portions where the integrated connector is joined to the header tank and the gas-liquid separator of the heat exchanger.
FULL-AREA CONNECTION OF HEAT-TRANSFER BLOCKS BY HYDRAULIC WIDENING OF PIPES BETWEEN PROFILES
The invention relates to a plate-type heat exchanger having at least a first and second heat-transfer block, wherein each block has multiple separating plates, which are arranged parallel to one another, which form a multiplicity of heat-transfer passages for fluids taking part in the heat transfer. The heat-transfer blocks are outwardly bounded by cover plates. A first cover plate of the first heat-transfer block is secured to an opposite second cover plate of the second heat-transfer block. At least one elongate first profile is secured to the first cover plate. At least one elongate second profile running parallel to the at least one first profile is secured to the second cover plate such that the two profiles are opposite one another in a direction parallel to the cover plates. Between the two profiles there is an interspace in which an elongate element is arranged in an interference fit with the two profiles, such that the two cover plates and thus the two heat-transfer blocks are secured to one another. The elongate element is designed as a hollow profile.
TURBULATOR INSERT
A heat exchanger system includes a housing defining an interior volume, one or more tubes extending within the interior volume of the housing, and a turbulator disposed within one or more of the tubes. The turbulator induces turbulence in a fluid flow through the tube, and includes a cylindrical body having a first, outer surface and a second, inner surface opposite to the first, outer surface, and multiple protrusions coupled to the cylindrical body and extending at least partially inwardly from the inner surface of the body.
HYBRID METAL-POLYMER HEAT EXCHANGER
A heat exchanger includes a metal tube and a composite polymer fin in thermal contact with the metal tube. The fin is formed of a polymer and a thermally conductive filler such that the fin has a thermal conductivity greater than or equal to 0.5 Watts per meter Kelvin.
COOLING ARRANGEMENT, FLUID COLLECTOR FOR COOLING ARRANGEMENT, AND METHOD OF PRODUCING A FLUID COLLECTOR
A cooling arrangement for a battery box includes a plate-shaped heat exchanging element, a cooling channel secured to the heat exchanging element, and a fluid collector for collecting or feeding a fluid into the cooling channel. The fluid collector includes a volume region and has a receiving opening on a side proximate to the cooling channel for introduction of the cooling channel to thereby fluidly connect the volume region with the cooling channel. A sealing element and a clamping element are arranged on an outside of the fluid collector at the receiving opening, with the clamping element being traversed by the cooling channel. A clamping tab is arranged above or below the receiving opening in surrounding relationship to the sealing element and the clamping element to thereby secure the cooling channel immovably to the fluid collector.
Systems and Methods for Thermal Management Using Separable Heat Pipes and Methods of Manufacture Thereof
Systems and methods for thermal management using separable heat pipes and methods of manufacture thereof. Various embodiments provide a porous insert that can be used to join or connect heat pipes. Further embodiments provide thermal management systems that are modular, expandable, reparable, by allowing for joining of evaporators, condensers, and adiabatic sections via porous inserts. Various embodiments allow for two-phase thermal management systems, where liquid and gaseous phases can be transported simultaneously. Certain embodiments incorporate heat generating components with embedded evaporators and/or condensers. Many embodiments are additively manufactured, including via 3D printing.
Heat exchanger tube-to-header sealing system
A tube-to-header sealing system for a heat exchanger comprises a pair of mating header plates, each header plate having a wall with a plurality of openings therein and including a continuous depression along the circumference of each header plate opening which forms one-half of an O-ring groove. Each of a plurality of O-rings is positioned in each O-ring groove and the header plates are secured together such that the header plate plurality of openings are aligned and trap each of the plurality of O-rings in O-ring grooves. A plurality of spaced-apart tubes each having a tube end secured in an opening in the wall of the header to form a tube-to-header joint are expanded outwardly to provide sufficient O-ring deformation to obtain a seal. In service, the resiliency of the O-ring seal allows for expansion and contraction of the tubes without the build-up of high stresses at the tube-to-header joint.
Housing Having a Cylindrical Insert Sealed Against the Housing
An arrangement has a housing, which has a receptacle or an opening, and a cylindrical insert, which is mounted in the receptacle or opening via at least one interference fit. The insert has a peripheral groove, and therefore the insert is both fastened against the housing and sealed against the housing in a liquid- and/or gas-tight manner by way of material of the insert and/or housing that has been pressed into the groove during the assembly. The material of the insert and/or of the housing is displaced in the case of an interference fit. The groove provides a defined location to which the material can preferably flow. After the assembly has been concluded, the insert is locked against the housing by the material located in the groove. At the same time, the material acts as a seal between the insert and the housing. A separate seal in the region of the press fit becomes dispensable.
HEAT SINK
A heat sink includes: a heat sink body made of a metal material which includes a plurality of heat radiating fins having a flat plate shape, the heat radiating fins being arranged parallel to each other on one surface side of a base having a flat plate shape at intervals in a direction along a surface of the base; and a bridge member made of a metal material which has a plurality of grooves parallel to each other, the grooves being formed at a pitch equal to an arrangement pitch of the heat radiating fins of the heat sink body, and the grooves accommodating distal ends of the respective heat radiating fins in a press-fitted state.
